Better Optics, Better Performance.

Motion SensorsUnique Technologies

The higher the quality of information you have to make a decision, the more likely you will be to make the right choice. The same is true with motion sensors. The better the quality of the optics hitting the sensor board, the easier it is for the sensor to make the right choice between a false alarm and a genuine intrusion attempt.

Whether at a close range or at a distance, UTCFS detectors accurately interpret size, shape, duration and speed of the target allowing the most precise detection in the industry.

At close range and at a distance, the size, scale, duration and speed of objects cannot be accurately interpreted by the sensor optics for effective detection.

FACT: Only UTCFS’s unique “Gliding Focus” mirror optics can provide smooth, continuous and automatic target focus over the entire detection range coverage.

4D signal processing allows the PIR channel to intelligently analyse a signal pattern and distinguish between real human movement and false alarm hazards. The PIR channel in it’s own right is resistant to false alarms by analysing the size, shape and speed of successive signals. 4D Signalling is available with most of UTCFS’s motion sensors.

5D is the next generation and building on the strengths of 4D, it adds an intelligent differentiation between fast and slow moving signals. When a slow thermal source is detected, the signal processing switches automatically to the 5D mode and executes additional pattern recognition to distinguish this signal from a slow walking person. If the signal fits, it must be an intruder and an alarm is generated. If there is no fit, the signal is ignored, which ensures signals such as moving reflections of sunlight are filtered out. The result is a unique combination of high sensitivity detection with high false alarm immunity without the need for manual sensitivity adjustment.

Auto focus for constant sensitivity

Most sensors require you to turn down the sensitivity if they are placed in an area smaller than the prescribed range of the detector. For instance placing a non-UTCFS 12m detector in a 6m room will require the installer to reduce the sensitivity settings to avoid false alarms. Being forced to turn down the sensitivity directly reduces the ability of the detector to detect human movement particularly under crawl. The result is an installation that is less likely to false alarm but substantially degrades the ability to detect intruders effectively.

No backlobe–no false alarmRCR is unlike any dual technology sensor. It combines radar and PIR technology which gives you precise coverage, accurate detection and unsurpassed false alarm immunity. Traditional dual technology sensors can generate false alarms and increased cost from microwave bleeding and back lobe. Or worse, they can fail to detect because of decreased sensitivity. RCR – the sensor to use when failure is not an option.

When you can’t afford to take chances, Range Control Radar (RCR) is the answer. With traditional dual technology sensors, false alarms from mystery sources – adjacent office activity, trees brushing against windows, street traffic, etc. - can create a nightmare situation for you and your customers. RCR eliminates this problem with its precise range control and radar accuracy. Install RCR with confidence – not only have you protected your customer from intrusion, you’ve protected them from false alarms.

The RCR-C detector is perfect for high security applications that require stealth protection and range accuracy. Mount a unit in microwave only mode behind a curtain or dry wall for superior stealth protection.

UTCFS has always provided the market with the best available technology to achieve the highest anti-masking performance against sabotage. All of UTCFS’s range of anti-masking detectors provide powerful protection against sabotage attempts to grade 3 compliance including immunity to ambient light and flashlights.

UTCFS uses its own patented Active Infra Red (AIR) technology to provide the best protection against anti-masking attempts. The VE700AM series and the EV1000 series extend on this technology with fourth generation of UTCFS’s patented AIR technology.

This new technology provides protection not only outside but inside the detector providing a higher level than required by EN50131 grade 3 compliance. This gives superior protection against sabotage attempts such as spraying, covering and device penetration. It will detect the widest variety of materials, sprays and lubricants and will report any change in status by using light guides and directional coupling. Full self diagnostics including dynamic/cyclic test of pyro and Anti-masking circuitry on a routine basis ensure it is always operating correctly and has not been subject to sabotage.

The DD669AM is the first detector that features advanced Grade 3 certified anti-masking via range control radar.

The V700 series and the EV100 series now benefit from the 4th Generation of UTCFS’s exclusive AIR technology.

Page 6

Anti-masking via UTCFS’s Range Control Radar ensures that there is a virtual shield at 40cm from the detector that includes the wall behind the detector. This provides superior protection against sabotage. True range control ensures that there is no bleed beyond 50cm that may cause a false alarm. The DD669AM is the first detector ever to utilise Range Control Radar in order to achieve grade 3 certified anti-masking.

Laser alignment for spot-on detection

With its 60m long range, the VE735 is an ideal detector for corridor applications, so precise alignment is essential. The VE710 Laser alignment tool allows you to get the set-up absolutely accuratewith a minimum of fuss.

The result of several years of research and development by UTC Fire & Security has increased its lead against the competition on motion detectors with its V2E Vector verified technology and Patented PYRO DSP algorithm now available in the 700 Series.

The VE700 series allows you to determine the direction of the intruder across the surveillance area. The VE700 series can trigger an alarm when an intruder walks from left to right and differentiate intruder movement from right to left, and vice versa.

Direction sensitive motion sensor

State of the art Anti-masking with VE700AM series

Superior false alarm immunityThanks to the DSP driven detection algorithm, it will filter out any false alarm signals from a stationary thermal source and react only to alarm signals from a moving source, such as an intruder. This makes the VE735 the best solution against false or un-wanted alarm where other PIR sensors would fail.

VE700 Series is the most intelligent PIR motion sensor with a reliability never seen in any PIR before.

The multi channel AM technology utilised in the VE700AM series capable of detecting any AM attempt, up to 30 cm from the detector. Making the detector immune to partial masking attempts, system malfunction, insect presence, and even white-light jamming.
