Thomas A. Edison & Edwins Porter•Thomas A. Edison Inc. and producer Edwin S Porter made a famous film known as “The Old Maid Having her Picture Taken”•The film shows the maid looking at a hanger with photo samples that fall onto the ground. The clock suddenly speed up and also falls to the ground. She looks into the mirror and it cracks into several pieces. She sits and poses for her picture and the camera explodes. The camera completely destroys the studio. •The film was created in July of 1901.

•The Library Of Congress began collecting motion pictures in 1893.• Because of difficulty storing the flammable nitrate film, the Library only retained the descriptive material relating to motion pictures.
