On Saturday February 6, 2016 Mother Teresa Maternity Home will be
presenting its 13th annual dinner and auction fundraiser. This is the
premier event where businesses and community members come together
to provide essential funding to ensure the ongoing services offered by
the home. The event has sold out every year with a waiting list of guests
wishing to attend.
You are encouraged to make your reservations early to ensure a place at
the dinner. Also, for just a little additional donation, please consider put-
ting together a sponsorship table for eight and further help support the
home.

17th Annual MTMH Fall Luncheon
was held on October 4, 2015 in Gur-
nell Hall, St Patrick Church, Placer-
ville. The hall was full of 30 tables
decorated beautifully in a wide vari-
ety of themes. The 240 guests en-
joyed a delicious salad luncheon, a
live auction, wine basket raffle, bas-
ket raffle, 50/50 raffle, and a variety
of raffle baskets. One highlight of
the day was having two former resi-
dents tell the assembly about their
time at the maternity home and the
help they were given. Dozens of
volunteers made this a very success-
ful event for the home. Committee chairs were : event chair– Betty Ackley; tickets and ta-
bles– Tina Rheault; kitchen– Kelly Tigue, Colette Polaski, and Barbara Goyette; raffle bas-
kets– Nola Bjelk; wine steward– Mike Meinz; 50/50 and program–
Marcia Hartman; wine raffle– Betty Zurlinden; ticket takers– Jennifer
Patterson and Karen Jones; live auction– Jean Kuzmich and Norma
Hansler; auctioneer– Jack Sweeny. Be sure to put the first of October,
2016 on your calendar for our next luncheon!

tinue our services to those in need every minute of every
day. Please consider making a generous end of the year do-
nation to help support the Mother Teresa Maternity Home
in its mission of providing a temporary residence, in a safe
environment, for pregnant women in need; to help them
with referrals to existing community services and agencies,
and to encourage communications with their families. Our
funding comes from individual donations, non-
governmental grants and fundraising activities.

Letter From Former Resident I would like to say thank you to Mother Te-
resa Maternity Home. Thanks so much! I
am a graduate of your program. Julia and I
are doing great. I am celebrating a year so-
ber. I now have full custody of my 4 year old
daughter Karizma. I came to MTMH in November of last
year struggling from drug addiction and domestic vio-
lence. MTMH helped me to start a new life with bound-
aries, support, and taught me a new way of life. I am
seeking new housing and we are all doing so well.
MTMH has helped me create a rock hard foundation for
my kids and myself. I could not have done it alone with
out MTMH, so thanks again!
