What is it? How is it Done? And, Why Does It Matter?

Join us for a presentation by Dr. Jennie Campos, MHT parishioner for 25 yrs., and hear about her work as an

international development consultant in over 30 countries including those across Africa, Latin America, Asia, Eastern Europe, The Pacific, and The Caribbean.

Jennie obtained her doctorate in international develop-ment from The Center for International Education,

University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA. She will talk about the organizations she’s worked with and how they

approach alleviating poverty, the lack of education for the girl child, and engaging citizens in the political or governance process in fragile states like Afghanistan, Kosovo and Tajikistan and in countries closer to home like Guatemala, Bolivia and several Caribbean nations.

Learn from Jennie how MHT’s Just Faith Program encouraged her to re-dedicate herself to working in

precarious settings and how her faith continues to give her the courage to put the lives of others ahead of her

own safety and security. Q & A session included. The fee for lunch is $7.50

If you are planning to attend, please call the office so we know how many lunches to have. And if you need a

TESTING TESTING TESTING Often it can seem as if our faith is being tested. We can

be asked, like Abraham, how much we are willing to sac-rifice in obedience to God's call. Abraham appeared will-

ing to sacrifice his most precious gift, his son, Isaac. Abraham went so far as to take the knife with which he

could have ended his son's life. But God did not ask that of him. God asked only that he be willing and that he continue to listen. In Mark, it is the disciples who are tested to understand the vision that they are given of Jesus, visibly transformed from an ordinary man like

themselves to beloved Son of God. Peter, impulsive Pe-ter, speaks and plans an action. He is rebuked and told

to listen. The test is not about action. The test is to listen.
