JUNE 17, 2016 MOSCOW ARTWALK MOSCOWPULLMAN DAILY NEWS / LEWISTON TRIBUNE | Friday, June 17, 2016 | 3
Welcome to Artwalk 2016!2016 marks the12th year anniversary of the City of
Moscow Artwalk. This yearly event kicks off summer for our community – the entire town looks forward to it – The City of Moscow and the sponsors of Art Walk celebrate the kickoff on June 17th in beautiful downtown Moscow!”
This year, in addition more than 107+ artists and 71 businesses being involved, an artwalk working sub-committee was formed. Representation from: Moscow Arts Commission, Prichard Art Gallery, Rdesign, New Saint Andrews College, EMSI, Buy Local Moscow, University of Idaho, PCEI, Gritman Hospital, and Moscow Chamber of Commerce. Thanks go out to volunteers who contributed countless hours including Lauren McCleary, Ellen Grundin, Joan Alexander, Elise Warner, Penny Rench, Alys Nafsinger, Melissa Rockwood, Nichole Baker and Gina Taruscio
Public Art: This year we will celebrate the talents of Sculpture Artists at the Intermodal Transit Center located on Sweet Avenue and College Street, with a reception from 3-4pm. These sculptures were installed as a result of the City of Moscow’s 1% Public Art Ordinance. The following artists have installed sculptures: Shelly Gilmore, Israel J. Gonzales, Zachary Asher, Talitha Davis, Cody Magee and Michaela Olinger. New Vinyl Wraps on Utility boxes will be installed and on display at various locations throughout Moscow. Artists selected this year for their graphic design work
are: Mike Beiser, Inna Popova and Rachael Eastman.
Ribbon Cutting & Portrait Painting: Join us for a ribbon cutting of the new “wisescape” landscaping at the Moscow City Hall at 3:30pm. Don’t forget to watch the Mayor Portrait Painting of Bill Lambert by Henry Stinson at 4:30pm.
Barbecue: The City of Moscow Public Works Department will be hosting their annual Open House beginning from 4pm to 7pm. Enjoy a free BBQ catered by LocoGrinz Hawaiian BBQ and meet your Public Works Staff. Learn about where your water comes from and how you can conserve it. Visit the conservation booth to sign up for one of the many prizes to be raffled off, including a family pool pass to the Hamilton-Lowe Aquatic Center.
