Eye cancer approximately constitutes for 0.1% of malignancies of all anatomical sites. With the recent
technological advances and availability of ancillary testing, the diagnosis and management of eye cancers
has come a long way. Though rare, we can encounter ocular and adnexal tumors (benign and malignant)
in our daily practice. Due to the urgency in initiation of treatment for malignant tumors to increase the
chance of eye and vision salvage, timely diagnosis is most important. This IC will discuss the diagnostic
criterions for ocular and adnexal tumors. Eyelid tumors, orbital tumors, ocular surface tumors,
intraocular tumors as well as ocular pathology will be discussed in detail.

Medical science is not an exact science. It is evolving daily. Why should one do research? In the era of
evidence-based medicine, all decisions regarding patient management are based on research. We are
constantly striving for the best patient care. Everyone needs to learn research right from the
undergraduates to consultants. Research and publication have been neglected at undergraduate and
postgraduate level. The curriculum does not cover many aspects of research. The aim of this instruction
course is to make aware of various aspects of research methodology.
