WEEK 1 TERM 3
21 July 2020
MORUYA PUBLIC SCHOOL
Welcome to Term 3.
We are excited about another term of fabulous teaching and learning and are looking at lots of different ways that we can enrich the curriculum and continue to provide additional opportuni-ties for students despite current restrictions. Over the next few weeks there will be information about virtual writing workshops with authors and a range of activities for students to participate in.
Last term you should have received your child’s school report. Later this term we will hold formal parent teacher interviews. Depending on health guidelines these may be over the phone rather than in person. At any time if you wish to discuss your child’s learning you are welcome to contact the class teacher.
I would like to thank everyone in our community for their support of our school and for continuing to follow health advice. As advised yesterday, students will be escorted to Murray St and Evans St gates in the afternoon to continue to minimise the number of adults on site. We continue to ensure extra cleaning throughout the day as well as regular hand washing, wiping down of surfaces and use of hand sanitiser. We ask that you continue to follow the advice of NSW Health and notify us of any potential cases of Coronavirus so that we can take appropriate action. Please at any time if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me.
At this stage our Kindergarten Orientation and information sessions are on hold. As soon as it is possible for us to hold these sessions we will provide you with information. In the mean time, if your child is starting school next year and you would like to discuss their enrolment or find out information about our school please contact the front office and I will be happy to talk with you and provide additional information. We can also send out information and enrolment packs when requested.
Our school banking program will continue next week. Students can resume bringing in bank books for banking from next week. I would like to thank Merryn for making this program available to our students. Our canteen reopened this week and I thank Nicole and the P&C for enabling the students at our school to have access to a canteen and a great range of food.
Mr Johnson and Mrs Mercer will be on leave this term. Mrs Wassell will continue as the class teacher for Chameleons and Ms Dyason will continue as the class teacher for Butterflies.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy week.
