Invitation to ApplyIn search for a new Superintendent of Schools the Morristown Board of Education has enlisted the assistance of Mr. Thomas R. Burns. As the St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES District Superintendent, Mr. Burns will serve as the contact person for the applicants; however, the Board will make the final decision. Contract & Salary InformationThe Morristown Central School Board of Education will offer a three-year contract with an initial salary up to $130,000 commensurate with experience. Residency, within the Morristown Central School District, is preferred.

QualificationsThe successful candidate should be an experienced school leader with a consistent record of success and someone who has a:
• Broad range of educational experiences with a familiarity of all levels K-12, prior administrative and classroom teaching experience preferred
• Vision for the district and ability to lead diverse teams of stakeholders in implementing the vision for the district
• Understanding of the business aspects of managing a small school district including budget building, grants, funding sources, and New York State regulations
• Commitment to the improvement of academic performance along with an extensive understanding of the Common Core Learning Standards, Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR), and assessment procedures
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Board of Education
• Interest in becoming an active community member
