ITINERARY

DAY 1: CASABLANCA – RABAT 90 KM Upon arrival in Casablanca, you will be met and transferred to Rabat. Today you will visit the Hassan Tower, Mohammed V Mausoleum, Royal Palace and Kasbah Oudayas with a photo stop at the Necropolis of Chellah. (L/D) DAY 2: RABAT – MEKNES – VOLUBILIS – FEZ 220 KM After breakfast, depart for Meknes and visit the Ismaili city, place Hdim El Bab Lakhmiss, Bab Mansour, one of the most beautiful gates in Morocco, the royal stables and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. After lunch depart for Volubilis and admire the Roman ruins and the holy city of Moulay Idriss. Continue to Fez and overnight. (B/L/D) DAY 3: FEZ The whole day is dedicated to Fez, including its Medina and souks. Visit the Attarine Medersa (ancient university) and Nejarine Plaza with its magnificent mosaic fountain and ornate wood sculptures. Afterwards, stop at the esplanade of the Royal Palace to take some pictures at its sumptuous Golden Door. Depart for the Merinide’s Tombs for a marvellous view of the city. DAY 4: FEZ – BENI MELLAL – MARRAKESH 485 KM Depart for Marrakesh, driving through the Berber village of Immouzer Kandar and the city of Ifrane (known as ‘the Moroccan Switzerland’ for its cottages and ski station). After lunch, continue to Marrakesh and overnight. (B/L/D) DAY 5: MARRAKESH A full day tour of Marrakesh will include Old Marrakesh and an overview of the city’s rich 1000-

DAY 6: MARRAKESH – DADES 320 KM After breakfast, we depart to Dades via Ouarzazate, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2260m altitude). Lunch in Ouarzazate and continue across the road of Kasbahs via Skoura. Overnight in Dades. (B/L/D) DAY 7: DADES – MERZOUGA – BIVOUAC 250 KM

Depart for Erfoud via Tinerhir, visiting the Todra Gorge (Grand Canyons) en route. When you reach Merzouga, you will transfer to a 4x4 vehicle to cross the majestic dunes of Erg Chebbi, which rise to a height of 150m. Enjoy a camel ride from Merzouga to the Nomad Camp in the Sahara on time for the beautiful sunset (1:40 duration approx. or transfer via 4x4- according to your choice). Note: This Nomad Camp doesn’t serve alcohol but you can bring your own wine. Overnight at a desert camp in nomad tents. (B/L/D)

DAY 8: BIVOUAC – MERZOUGA Early wake-up to admire the splendid sunrise over the Sahara. The balance of the day is at leisure. After breakfast, depart for Meknes. Here you will visit the Ismaili city, place Hdim El Bab Lakhmiss, Bab Mansour, one of the most beautiful gates in Morocco, the royal stables, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. After lunch, we depart for Volubilis to admire the Roman ruins and the holy city of Moulay Idriss. Return to Fez for overnight. (B/L/D) DAY 5: FEZ – BENI MELLAL – MARRAKESH 485 KM Depart for Marrakesh, driving through the Berber

village of Immouzer Kandar, and the city of Ifrane (known as ‘the Moroccan Switzerland’ for its cottages and ski station). After lunch, we continue to Marrakesh for overnight. (B/L/D)

DAY 6: MARRAKESH A full day in Marrakesh – your guided visit has been specifically created to visit Old Marrakesh and its sights while giving you a complete overview of the city’s rich 1000-year history. Visit the Bahia Palace, the Royal Necropolis of the Saadien Tombs, Jema El Fna, the Koutoubia, and finally walk through the various souks (markets) to see all kinds of wonders for sale. (B/L/D) DAY 7: MARRAKESH Day at leisure. Maybe join an optional Moroccan cooking class in a Riad, an excursion to the Majorelle Gardens & Marrakesh Remparts, or an excursion to Essaouira – all for an additional fee, to be paid directly to your guide. (B/L) DAY 8: MARRAKESH – ESSAOUIRA 175 KM After breakfast, depart to Essaouira, formerly known as Mogador. This historic city is located on the Atlantic coast and goes back to the VII century. Guided visit of Skala, the port and the city, and the Mellah (Jewish district). Overnight at your Riad. (B/L/D) DAY 9: ESSAOUIRA – AZZEMOUR 270 KM Depart to Azzemour via Safi, known for its pottery, and continue to Jadida El Jadida and the Portuguese City of Mazagan. Overnight at your Riad in Azzemour. ITINERARY

DAY 1: CASABLANCA – RABAT 90 KM Upon arrival in Casablanca, you will be met and transferred to Rabat the actual capital of Morocco. Today you will Visit of the unfinished Mosque and the Hassan Tower, the prestigious Mohamed V mausoleum, the mosque was built at the end of the 12th century by Sultan Yaqoub el Mansour (1184-1199), see the Royal Palace Dar el Makhzen, with its doors carved in copper, realized by a local artisan in 1970. Also visit the gardens and the Kasbah of the Oudaĩas. It was built in the 12th century by the Almohads. We will then visit of the Necropolis of the Chellah, erected in 1339, ordered by king Aboul Hassan Ali. It’s located on the ruins of an ancient Roman city, this site is today considered the most romantic of Morocco. Villa Diyafa Boutique Hotel & Spa. (L/D) DAY 2: RABAT – MEKNES – VOLUBILIS – FEZ 220 KM Breakfast and departure to Meknes. In the 17th century, the Alawite Sultan Moulay Ismail decided to make the city of Meknes one of the most beautiful and powerful of Morocco. Enjoy a city tour: you will see El Hedim Square, Bab Mansour, the Mausoleum Moulay Ismail and the old granaries. Departure towards Volubilis to visit the most important ancient Roman site of Morocco. Volubilis has been listed as a World Heritage Site by Unesco since 1997. After lunch , we will continue and stop at the Holy City of Moulay Idriss, a beautiful white village on a hill. Arrival to Fez in the afternoon for dinner and night in a sumptuous Moroccan Riad. (B/L/D) DAY 3: FEZ Breakfast and follow the guide. The day is dedicated to Fez, the most impressive of the Imperial cities. It’s also the spiritual capital of the Kingdom and, an important handcraft and artisan center. The Fes area has an exceptional artistic , architectural and historical heritage. We will first visit the medina known as "Fez El Bali". It’s the largest medina (old town) in the world. Without much change since the 12th century, the Medina of Fes is classified by UNESCO as a patrimony of humanity. You will discover one of the most spectacular places in the Medina; the famous district of the tannery, they are established here since the Middle Ages. Then you will see the Néjjarine square and its fountain decorated with antic mosaics and surmounted by a most impressive sculpted cedar canopy. After dinner, visit the Royal Palace and it’s sumptuous golden door, then discover the tombs of the Merinides, from where you will have a panoramic

view of the city and its fortress walls. At the end of the day we will stop at a potters' complex to see how they decorate the plates and then we will return to the Riad for dinner and night. (B/L/D)

DAY 4: FEZ – BENI MELLAL – MARRAKESH 485 KM Depart for Marrakesh, driving through the Berber village of Immouzer Kandar and the city of Ifrane (known as ‘the Moroccan Switzerland’ for its cottages and ski station). After lunch, continue to Marrakesh and overnight at Villa Des Orangers for 3 nights. (B/L/D) DAY 5: MARRAKESH Breakfast and follow the guide. The day is dedicated

to the discovery of the Red imperial city "Marrakech la Rouge". We will visit the Koutoubia, it fascinates by the beauty of its forms and architecture. We will also see Bahia Palace, a group of houses were assembled and arranged to design a Palace at the end of the 19th century by the Moroccan architect El Mekki on behalf of the great vizier Ahmed ben Moussa also known as Ba Hmad (1841-1900). The visit will continue with the Saadian Tombs, from the famous Saadian dynasty. This superb royal tomb testifies the refinement of the Hispano-Moorish architecture which characterize 16th Century. We will also visit the Menara Gardens, the tower of the ramparts. After lunch, we will finally have to time to spend time in this magnificent medina of Marrakech, and of course, shop in one of the biggest souk of Africa. Walking on the Place Djemâa El Fna, you can stop for a drink or a snack or just contemplate the permanent show of storytellers, acrobats and snake charmers. Return to the hotel Villa Des Orangers. (B/L/D) DAY 6: MARRAKESH Day at leisure. Join an optional Moroccan cooking class in a Riad, an excursion to the Majorelle Gardens & Marrakesh Remparts, or an excursion to Essaouira – all for an additional fee, payable directly to your guide. (B/L) Optional excursions ($): The Majorelle gardens and palm grove, Fantasia dinner show evening during Moroccan cuisine. DAY 7: MARRAKESH - ESSAOUIRA 250 KM Breakfast, departure for Essaouira "the ex-Mogador" a beautiful fishing village located on the Atlantic coast. The old town is dating back to 7th century BC. Upon arrival, guided tour of the Portuguese Skalas of Essaouira , the old medina , its souks, the consulate district and the Mellah (Jewish quarter). Lunch and then walk inside the ramparts which shelter a medina strongly marked by Portuguese and Moorish influences. Free time to walk in the old town and enjoy some time in the souk , and terraces. Dinner and overnight at le Palais l’heure Bleue Essaouira (B/L/D) DAY 8: ESSAOUIRA – AGADIR 250 KM Breakfast, Departure for Agadir through this magnificent coastal road, the arid straw-colored landscape is sumptuous. If you don’t take a nap during the ride you will have the opportunity to see some very special goats climbing argan trees. Dinner and overnight at la Villa Blanche.
