A 5-week Bible Study is forming and is open to all ladies of the church, hosted by the Etta Stadtmiller WOM. The study will be held on Sunday evenings at 6:15 p.m. beginning October 2nd in the Fellowship Hall. The cost is $11.00 for the book, due to Maureen Aycock by September 18th. Each participant is asked to bring a dish to share as we will be breaking bread together as well as studying Priscilla Shirer’s “BREATHE: Making Room for Sabbath.” According to the author, “By neglecting time for tranquility, serenity, and repose, we limit our Christlikeness and miss out on some of God’s greatest gifts. It is time for us to breathe and build margin into our lives for God.”
It is now time for those who signed up to attend the Gaither Vocal Band Concert in Greensboro on November 12 to begin to turn in your money. The cost per person including concert ticket and transportation will be $25. If writing a check, please make it payable to the church as we will be ordering the tickets on September 22nd with the church credit card. Don’t forget that we will be having dinner in Greensboro prior to entering the Coliseum for the concert. You may turn in your money to the church office or through the Sunday School office.
Flowers are placed on the communion table in loving memory of Gail Bridges and Pat Bridges September birthdays by their children and grandchildren.

Hands and Feet Women on Missions is collecting baby items for the Agape Pregnancy Support Services of Fayetteville, NC. This location is running low on supplies and is also gathering items to send to a flooded out shelter in Louisiana. Items needed would include: bottles, blankets, pacifiers, baby grooming kits, powder, baby wash and baby lotion, clothes from 0-3 and 3-6 months, diapers and wipes. Drop off any items to the small kitchen. There is a basket there for the collection which we will do through Sunday evening of October 2nd when we will be organizing the items to deliver them to the agency.

Healing for Disciples: Community Jonah 3:6-10
INTRODUCTION We usually think of the disobedient Prophet and the great fish when we think of Jonah. Today we will focus more on Nineveh than the prophet. The community of Nineveh teaches us several important lessons. In our world, that mirror’s some of Nineveh’s disobedience to God, let us examine the hope of healing for a broken community. We live in many different communities, the community of family, neighborhood, work, church, school, and the larger community of county, state, nation, and world.
I. BELIEVED GOD
II. BROKEN SPIRIT
III. BORE REPSONSIBILITY
IV. BEHAVED DIFFERENTLY
V. BENEFITED FROM GOD’S GRACE
CONCLUSION Today, the model of Nineveh can serve as a model for our community. If we do what the people of Nineveh did, God will be faithful to us as well.
Thank you so much to my church family for the cards, food, phone calls, visits and most importantly are the prayers said on my behalf over the last 6 weeks while I have been unwell. I am so thankful that the new medications I am on seeem to be helping improve my strength and pain level so that I am able to be out of bed and go back to work. “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 has been my favorite scripture for many years and has given me encouragement for difficult times. My love and thanks to you all
