A number of students from Years 3 - 6 have accepted

the challenge of participating in the Morgan Street

Public Speaking Competition which will be held on

Thursday 1st August.

Today the students had the opportunity to refine their

speeches with the assistance of Miss Wagner, Miss

Shepherd, Mrs Winders and Mrs Sheargold. These

Even though last week’s athletics carnival was an

extremely chilly day, it was great to see so many

students participating and having lots of fun. A big

thank you to all the parents, grandparents and

carers who also braved the icy conditions to cheer

on their children or assist with timekeeping or in

the canteen. We really appreciate your support.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT

Ms Carol Muir

What is your role at MSPS? I am the Assistant Principal responsible for the supervision of Stage 3 staff and students. I also have the privilege of teaching a great class, 6M. I am also the Technology Co-Ordinator. How long have you worked at MSPS? This is my 31st year!! I cannot actually believe that I am one of the longest serving staff members here at MSPS. What’s your favourite thing about working at MSPS? The main reasons that have kept me here for all these years are the terrific students and their families. I have also been lucky to have worked along side many amazing teachers. What is something about you that not many people know? When I was in high school I participated in state athletics, netball and basketball and was Sports Girl of the Year. What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this? I have always enjoyed art and design so I think a graphic designer would be right up my alley. But I would love to be a famous photographer. If you could live anywhere else, where? I would love to live on a small farm somewhere with a view of mountains next to a lake or river.

Don’t Forget to order your family pies,

foccacias, cocktail pies, pasties and sausage
