B. Special Report/ Discussion – Student Council Representative, Maia Kunzman, gave a report on what has been going on with student council in the high school. The senior dinner and Community Day went well. Doug’s fish Fry fundraiser was a success and supplied food at Sportsman’s Day. We will be sponsoring field day the last day of school before Memorial Day weekend and we have Teacher Appreciation week and Bus Driver Appreciation week coming soon.

1. BOCES Budget Don wanted to know how we market BOCES programs to students so they understand what is being offered and if we are offering courses on trades for the possibility of a gas boom. Missy covered how the BOCES representative works with the students so they know what opportunities they offer, and there are programs such as welding.

2. Special Board Meeting – April 17, 7 AM – Jim, Craig, Casey and Howard will be in attendance. Bob and Sean, unsure at this time.

G. Regular Reports 1. Administrative Reports

Missy – We had 24 Sr. high all county band members chosen to participate. This is the most in Tioga County. Started signing kids up for courses for next year, sophomores took the practice PSAT and juniors took practice SAT. High school safety committee went through the safety plan and are working on coming up with practice drills. Community showcase this weekend. Tina – Shelley Lester was recruited by the New York State Afterschool Network to speak on behalf of the 21st Century Learning Grant and how it supports our students and community. Check out our school website to vote on a 3 minute video about the greenhouse program. Eric – Meeting now to put together next year’s schedule. 4th marking period ends next week. Modified wrestling is undefeated, and girls and boys basketball went very well. Next week is green week. Kai – A big thank you to Lara McFarland who will be leaving the district to pursue another career. She has been an asset to our program and she will be missed by staff and students. Next week is green week. We have been looking at Math textbooks that align with the Common Core called enVisionMath. We will try the program next year in Kindergarten through 4th grade.

2. Superintendents Report John Horvath presented a recommendation for bus purchases for next year.

Dr. Morgan and I went to the GST School Boards Association Legislative Meeting this week. 2 State Assemblymen and State Senator O’Mara also attended. The inequity of state aid was the major discussion. Bob was not here tonight, he was unable to take over the meeting, next month he or another board member hopefully would like to.
