points a relevant stage of the revolution of windlasses class. The resistance of anchorages and the whole mechanic system have

been carefully tested and are well reliable.

Therefore they are marked for security, capacity and modernity. Mooring and towing winches for navy grant a high level operation

and an uncommon finishing also for what concerns paints. Protection against corrosion has been studied on scientific basis. The

machine is protected, after sandblasting, completely by a good paint then covered by several enamel layers. Pins and other soft

parts are further protected by anti-corrosion treatment.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTIONThe main elements of the Windlass system are:• Circular Basement in electro-welded steel sheet, to be fixed at bridge by means of a counter-flange with bolts (at Shipyard care).• Barbotin made in casting, for chain diameter 36 mm, installed in idle position on its own axis, equipped with engage/disengage with frontal teeth with wheel control

• Belt brake with gasket in ferodo, installed on steel belt controlled by means of manual wheel• Epicyclical reduction gear with in oil bath grinding with hydraulic service brake of negative type• Hydraulic motor axial piston type, with double displacement and hydraulic proportional command.
