RADIANT MOPS

Name Our Cookbook Contest

In addition to needing recipes, we need a name for our MOPS cookbook. We are holding a contest for the most creative name. Please submit your ideas to Niki at [email protected]. If your title is picked, you will receive a special prize! Some sample names to get you thinking are Taste of Goodness, Taste-ful Treasures or Let`s Get Cooking. But we know you can come up with something more creative,

We are compiling a MOPS cookbook. Please take a few minutes to submit your favorite or unique family recipes. You may write them down or email them directly to Niki at [email protected]. Recipes will be collected until March 20th, but please don`t wait until the last minute (as Niki needs time to type them). We will be taking a group photo during the March 20th meeting for the bio section of the cookbook. Be here if you can! Cookbooks will be professionally printed and bound and will sell for $10. We will start collecting pre-paid orders now, and the cookbooks will be ready by our last meeting in May.

Meeting Cancellation

Due to Weather As the winter months draw near, we'd like to remind you of our meeting cancellation policy. If District 11 is cancelled or on a delay due to inclem-ent weather, our MOPS meeting will be canceled. We will meet again on the next regularly scheduled date.

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar until well blended. Stir in melted chocolate and vanilla until no streaks remain. Refrigerate for about 1 hour. Shape into 1 inch balls. Roll truffles in ground walnuts (or any ground nuts), cocoa, coconut, confectioners' sugar, candy sprinkles, etc. To flavor truffles with other flavorings, omit vanilla. Divide truffle mixture into thirds. Add 1 tablespoon flavoring (almond, coffee, orange) to each mixture; mix well.

Ingredients: 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened 3 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips, melted 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Tiny Teachers

Children are the best teachers in the world. They teach young women how to be mothers and young men how to be fathers. They teach older men and women how to be grandparents. They even teach other children how to be brothers and sisters. Think about all the skills children teach people. They teach moms to be nurses and dads how to be heroes. They teach brothers and sisters how to share… toys, rooms, dreams and cookies. They even teach teachers how to teach in creative and fun ways. Children teach the world how to love. They teach us to look past a person’s skin color right to his or her heart. They teach us how to be honest, open and innocent. And they teach us how to hug and laugh and be enthusiastic. Children make us keep our promises because they never forget one that we make. They even make us into scien-tists and professors by asking “Why?” about everything that moves and many things that don’t. Isn’t it interesting that while we are teaching our children to be adults, they are teaching us how to be children? That’s especially important when we remember what Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14 NIV) ~ Mary Hollingsworth
