Moodle 2.0:Adding an Activity to Simulate
a Student Response System
Thank you to the Elevated Formation Blog at http://mintranet.wordpress.com/2010/06/25/moodle-activity-audience-response/#comments
for the idea.
Click on Add an activity…
Select Choice
Add a name and introduce the text
(or ask a question).
Disable Limit
Add Options for answers
then scroll down
If desired, click Restrict answering… and specify the time
period
Set Publish Results to“Show results to students only after
the choice is closed”
Set Allow choice to be updated to “Yes”
Set the other options based on your needs and then click Save and return
to course
For this next step you will need to open an automatic refresher website. I am using http://www.pagereboot.com.
First, click on the Activity
Then, copy the URL for the Choice Activity page.
Paste in the URL, set the refresh time (try 5
seconds), and click START.
Students can now use this Choice activity to respond to what is happening in the class. They can update their opinion as the instructor provides additional information about the subject under study. Only the instructor will see the participants’ responses.
What do the students see?
Students select a
response.
