Horror film mood board Colour scheme: Red – this colour can be associated with violence/blood, commonly shown in horror. It can also be a symbol of danger. Black – is often associated with death and evil which is important in horror as there is always a dark character to make the film scary. White – this colour is often used in costumes to portray the innocence of the character. Satanic or religious symbols appear often in horror. Creepy possessed objects. In horror the objects which are possessed by evil are objects which are known to bring happiness or fun. Dolls and clowns are an example.
