How can I earn official credits for my degree?

UGC has already issued the UGC (Credit framework for online learning courses through SWAYAM and NPTEL) Regulation 2016 advising the universities to identify courses where credits can be transferred on to the academic record of the students for courses done on SWAYAM and NPTEL. Students can earn credits as per NPTEL and AICTE Guidelines and University/College policy

How can I earn certificates from NPTEL?

A student having registered in a course and submitted the assignments as per requirements of the course, shall at the end of each course, be assessed through a proctored examination as per NPTEL policy. A student having successfully completed the course shall get a certificate that shall be issued by Host Institute. The marks/grades secured in this proctored examination could be transferred to the academic record of the students from Host Institute. Are there assignments in this course?

This is a 12 week course. Students will have to complete and submit 36 assignments on the NPTEL website. Approximately 50 % of the assignments will have to be conducted on the HW MSP430 Lunch Box board

Do I need to pay to attend the course?

What is the LunchBoxboard?

Lunchbox board is a low cost MSP430 MCU board. It is a single sided board that can be easily made in college labs. The board design files are free to down load from the below link https://github.com/ticepd/EmbSysDesign_NPTEL_Course/tree/master/Hardware/Design_Files

How can I get LunchBox board?

Texas Instruments will deliver 10000 boards by Aug 2020on recommendation from NPTEL and AICTE to Indian engineering colleges with

Minimum of 15 student exam registrations to receive 1 board for the course

Students can request NPTEL Local Chapter Coordinator to be the recipient of the Board. Alternatively, participants can fabricate the board by themselves in their lab. The board is single sided board and is very easy to fabricate with available resources in the lab. The board design is open source.

Do I need to use any software programs?

Yes, you will need Code Composer Studio (CCS). It is free to download from the Texas Instruments website
