1. Student Legislative Council Meetings
SLC 69/25 January 10th, 2012
y I was absent for this meeting, as I had not yet returned from ICBC
SLC 69/26 January 17th, 2012
y Approved a term excusal of Kinesiology rep Adam Wasylyshyn
y Discussed the upcoming SU general election with the election CRO. Ioutlined the restrictions that apply within Haskayne, and asked that these
unique restrictions were recognized in the manual
SLC 69/27 January 24th, 2012
y Spoke about the academic plan with Provost Dru Marshall
y Supported a term excusal based on academic need for Vet Medicinerepresentative Scott Zaari
SLC 69/28 January 31st, 2012
y Spoke extensively about tuition consultation at this meeting
y The university has opted to not require new mandatory fees to requirestudent approval prior to implementation, which was a root cause for
conversation
2. Faculty Work (and connecting with constituents)Intercollegiate Business Competition (January 6th 8th)
y Attended the 2012 ICBC event at Queens` University in Kingston, Ontario
Haskayne AACSB Meetings (January 16th, 2012)
y Represented students on the strategic planning meeting, Noting theadvantages of having a student voice on the committee as we crafted theHaskayne strategic plan.
y Was a member of the student review committee as well.
Presidents Circle (January 20th, 2012)
y Presented pending changes to Haskayne Clubs structure with CUSPresident Brittany Humphrey
y Reviewed the current state of a new levy for Haskayne and sought inputfrom the student club Presidents on the go-forward

Commerce Undergraduate Society Election Forums (January 31st, 2012)
y Attended the CUS executive election platforms for each of the candidatesfor the executive team
y Asked a number of questions related to the changes happening to theHaskayne clubs structure and new levy process
3. Committee WorkClubs Committee
y I was absent for the first meeting. The committee approved a number ofevent applications and discussed the imposition of new standardsregarding student clubs that use the names of corporations, non-profits orany other similar organization
Haskayne Student Levy Committee
y The committee met and finalized the reallocation of HSLC funds
4. Other
Calgary Leaders Dinner (January 27th, 2012)
y Represented important student issues to members of the Calgary politicalcommunity (ex. Tuition costs & Secondary suites)
5. Goals
Status of January Goals (if applicable).
y Working with CUS to restructure club relationships
o The clubs structure changes are set in place. The first stage ofthese changes occurs at the CUS executive elections on February2nd, with further changes happening shortly thereafter
o Administration, CUS, and the Haskayne student clubs have beenfully consulted on this issue, and their concerns addressed
y Working toward a new Haskayne Levyo Working to understand why the SU is unwilling to take on the levyo Working with other faculty reps in faculties that need a new levy to
attempt to convince the SU to consider these levies
My goals for February are:
y Working with CUS to restructure Haskayne Club relationshipsy Working toward a new Haskayne Levy

The steps to be taken to achieve these goals are:
y New Haskayne Student Levy (NHSL)o Work with the incoming and outgoing CUS presidents to establish a
thorough contingency plan for student consultationo Continue to work with the SU executives to re-open discussions
regarding faculty-specific levies
