Student Legislative Council Meetings SLC 69/25 March 6 th , 2012 ● Joey Brocke presented on safewalk as required under their funding agreement with the Students’ Union ● Council approved the extensive list of 2012 quality money projects SLC 69/26 March 13 th , 2012 ● Council voted unanimously to approve the report presented at the previous council meeting regarding safewalk. ● Council voted unanimously to support the appointment of Wilma Shim to the Tribunal for the next year ● Council voted in favor of a PDRC resolution that the SU take a stance against grandfather clauses in market modifier referendums. I took a hard stance against this proposal and was one of 8 no votes. This resolution passed 11-8. The reasons for my opposition are detailed in the minutes. SLC 69/27 March 20 th , 2012 ● I was absent for this meeting, due to academic commitments. SLC 69/28 March 27 th , 2012 ● The SU elections CRO presented the outcomes and several recommendations that came out of the 2012 election ● We re-allocated some mis-allocated Quality Money to a specific project ● I voted yes for a SLC excusal for Arts representative Raphael Jacob for work that, while outside of his mandate as Arts Rep, was in the best interest of the organization as a whole. ● I voted no for an excusal put forward by Law Representative Waqas Iqbal on the grounds that SLC was not taking place during the academic commitment that was brought to the table. 2. Faculty Work (and connecting with constituents) Students’ Union General Election ● I worked to encourage students to get out and vote in this last SU general election. This involved direct one-to-on contact with a number of students, as well as bringing various candidates through Scurfield Hall to introduce them to Haskayne students.
