Lone Star Mont Belvieu is an integrated liquids storage and fractionation facility owned by Lone Star NGL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Energy Transfer. The facility is strategically located along the U.S. Gulf Coast with access to multiple NGL and refined products pipelines, the Houston Ship Channel trading hub, and numerous chemical plants, refineries and fractionators. It is 30 miles east of Houston and above one of the world’s largest underground salt dome formations.

Energy Transfer maintains a leading position for natural gas liquids (NGL) fractionation. The Mont Belvieu fractionators handle NGLs delivered from several sources, including Energy Transfer’s Lone Star Express and Justice pipelines. Fractionator VI was placed in service in February 2019. The 150,000 barrel per day Fractionator VII is currently under construction and is scheduled to be operational in the first quarter of 2020. It is fully subscribed by multiple long-term contracts and will provide the much needed capacity required to supplement incremental fractionation demand in excess of volumes feeding Fractionators I through VI.

Fractionator VIII

Announced on Energy Transfer’s Q2 2019 Earnings Call in August, Lone Star NGL is moving forward with another 150,000 barrel per day fractionator at Mont Belvieu. Frac VIII is expected to come online in the second quarter of 2021 and is expected to ramp up quickly. This will bring the total frac capacity at Mont Belvieu to over 1 million barrels per day.
