Alie’s Pig Parade Multiplication Challenge! In today’s Number Fun Live, Pig and Bear played a great game of Pig Parade. Please do have a go at that game too! Here is a different game to play with the Pig Parade grid!
Alie’s Nugget Challenges:
1: Pig Parade Arrays - single player version.
Roll both six-sided dice and create a multiplication calculation, e.g. 4 x 3. Then colour in a 4 x 3 array on the Pig Parade grid. Roll the dice again and colour in the next array, e.g. 2 x 6. The aim of the game is to colour in as many as possible of the pigs before you cannot colour in an array you’ve rolled. Count how many arrays you’ve created, and calculate how many pigs you’ve coloured in by adding the products of the arrays.

2: Pig Parade Arrays - single player extension.
When you roll and array that you can’t create, partition the array into two arrays that you can create! E.g. if you roll a 5 x 3, you may be able to colour in a 2 x 3 and a 3 x 3 array instead!
3: Pig Parade Arrays - two player version.
The challenge is to colour in more pigs than your opponent! If you roll an array you can’t make, you miss a go!
