Online ID Calculator Results❖ The most revealing fact I found

on the Online ID Calculator is that I have no recognizable brand

❖ My results are mixed with other people that have my name and on a google SERP alone, I have no information that I want to be shared

❖ I have no validation available online at all - on any platform

Brand Archetype Results

❖ My goal is to help others and I didn’t think I had been representing that in my brand

❖ My weakness is being taken advantage of and I don’t know how to properly proposition myself in the business world to prevent that

❖ My voice is considerate and thoughtful rather than the “get-it-done” motivational voice

Hootsuite Account❖ I set up my Hootsuite Account by connecting my Facebook and creating a LinkedIn and Twitter account

to be managed by Hootsuite.

❖ I created a brand, industry, competitor, blog, and social media tabs.

❖ I am monitoring my personal names along with “SamiRae”, the name of my brand. I am monitoring Seth Godin, Neil Patel, Gary Vanderchuk and Frank Kern so that I can model their styles and learn from their content.

❖ I learned that I do not have a strong online presence and that those who do have a strong presence are active on multiple platforms. In order for me to compete in my industry, I need to develop a strong, recognizable brand. This is the best way to separate me from the other internet marketers out there.

❖ I learned how to monitor my content that is being shared so that I can comment on and manage my brand reputation. Unfortunately, I don’t have anything right now to monitor but I think starting from a blank slate is better than starting from a negative reputation.

❖ I learned that I do not have a lot of engagement around my posts. I noticed how much work I’ll have to do so that I can gain followers and connections that will want to engage with my content. This is a serious task and project to develop my personal brand (an issue I didn’t know I had before).

Google Alerts: What I Did

Google Alerts: What I Found❖ I am monitoring my full name “Samantha Erbe”, “Sam Erbe” along with the

name I will use for branding “SamiRae”. There was no content associated with these alerts.

❖ I am monitoring the Internet Marketing Industry as this is my degree program (and my personal passion). Google found some news articles regarding improving offline marketing, website building for affiliate marketers, and a new Facebook Automated Content Manager Software being released. I also found some job postings seeking internet marketers.

❖ I chose to monitor VaynerMedia as a well respected company in my industry. I will surely be adding more companies as I become more familiar with brand monitoring. This did not pull any google alert results, which I found to be surprising. Because of this, I added HubSpot and found some news regarding their stock prices and their recent blog posts.

Google Alerts: What I Learned❖ I found that there are companies or individuals actively seeking

professional internet marketers. I’ve known that I can market myself to grow a client base but knowing there are job listings prove how important it is to grow my brand.

❖ I can advance my career by applying for some of these positions and either gaining experience by working in the field as I am in school or ask for feedback from the potential employers so that I can be more appealing when I apply for a dream job.

❖ There is not enough quality information available on a daily basis in terms of internet marketing which leaves a space that I could grow brand and product awareness by making search-engine friendly content and reaching more of my target audience.

Feedly Account: What I Found

❖ Digital Marketing Blogs: This collection has RSS feeds that follow experts in my field. Hubspot, Kissametrics and Social Media are all feeds that will keep me up to date with latest news and trends being set by the leaders of the industry.

❖ Tools and Development: This collection is to keep me up to date on the tools I use for development. This includes an RSS feed on Wordpress, Google, Hootsuite and social media platforms like Facebook developers, Twitter and LinkedIn. These platforms are constantly adding features and integrations that I will want to know about and prepare for as they evolve.

❖ News: I made a specific collection for News that focuses on businesses, technology and marketing. This is intended to keep me updated on the technology that can help grow my business, the opportunities for new clients and any competitors I should be aware of.

I set up my Feedly Account with the following collections:

Feedly Account: What I Learned❖ Your Best Year of Blogging Yet, published by problogger, gave me great insight on

how to use blogging to strengthen my personal brand. I can use the information about making goals for my brand, setting a plan for content and how to automate by personal marketing strategies.

❖ New Year Tips for Reconnecting with your Professional Network by the LinkedIn Official Blog taught me how to casually use LinkedIn to rekindle my professional relationships. One great tip they shared was to comment about an articles in my feed. Since I don’t have an established LinkedIn account, this is a great thing I can do to develop relationships on this platform and grow my brand awareness.

❖ Instagram Ads: The Complete Guide for Business by Hootsuite’s blog taught me how to use Instagram for my business. I learned that my target demographic of business owners who might hire me are probably on Instagram and by publishing my work there, I can even include a call to action so they can contact me if they like my work.
