What is the research question to be answered? Will it serve the crisis related policy agenda? Is there a need for the data?

Evaluate all the other data sources (HBS, LFS) – we piggy backed on surveys in Armenia, Kosovo and Serbia

Tailor the survey Get buy-in from Government; coordinate with

Statistical Office The validity of the results depends on sampling—its

best to get a second opinion Use an existing sampling frame (or sample) if possible Don’t underestimate the time and work involved in

implementing a household survey

Lessons Learned
