Governor’s Council on Financial Literacy

Dear Friends,

I am pleased to write this message of support for the 2015 Money Smart Week Wisconsin, scheduled for April 18-25 in communities across the state. Nearly 30 organizing teams have planned hundreds of Money Smart Week events with the assistance of thousands of volunteers. Wisconsin consumers will be able to attend outstanding sessions on a variety of financial topics ranging from personal budgeting to investing to planning for retirement.

I am pleased to join the Governor’s Council on Financial Literacy, the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank, and the many organizers in support of Money Smart Week. Education is the key to financial survival and success in these fast-changing economic times. Through the efforts of the Money Smart Week Wisconsin organization and hundreds of partners, educational opportunities will abound during this week-long focus on personal finance.

On behalf of the Governor’s Council on Financial Literacy, I encourage all Wisconsin citizens to improve their financial well-being by taking part in the Money Smart Week activities in their communities. This annual event, first held in 2006 in Wisconsin, truly makes a difference in the lives of many Wisconsin citizens.

I hope you and your families will take advantage of the wonderful programs that will be made available as part of Money Smart Week.

Sincerely,

Tonette Walker
