Dear Friends,

The only ultimate value in our lives is God’s love for us.

This sentence is packed with a truth that should jump out at

us. The word “ultimate” means last, final or utmost “value”

meaning worth or importance, “God’s love for us” focuses

upon the deep personal affection God has for each of us.

Think of God’s everlasting love surrounding us, supporting

us and blessing us every second of our lives. Even in difficult times, that truth should fill our lives with

confidence, faith, hope and love. Take a moment to think

about it: God loves each of us constantly and we cannot ever

be separated from it! This is His amazing gift to each of us!

Yes, we have the freedom to refuse it, ignore it and even

doubt it. Yet, the New Testament tells us God’s eternal love

for us is an unwavering fact.

At this time of the year we focus our thoughts on gratitude

for the many blessings we have received. God’s

unconditional love for us should be foremost on our list. For

that every day should be a day of thanksgiving!

Because God showers us with love, our response should be

to love God and others in return. Our sense of thanksgiving

should compel us to give, to share and to be good stewards

of our time, talent and treasure. Because so many people

have difficulty seeing God’s love for them, He relies on us

to be His presence. Will you?

On behalf of Fr. Pawelko, Msgr. Skelly and Deacon Jack

may God bless you and those you love this Thanksgiving

and always.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER

As President of the United States, George Washington

proclaimed the first nationwide thanksgiving celebration

in America marking November 26, 1789, "as a day of

public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by

acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and favors of

Almighty God"

This week we celebrate Thanksgiving and we thank God for

all his blessings. This week may we all take a moment with

a grateful heart to count our blessings and remember those

who are less fortunate than ourselves. Let us be mindful of

the many families who are struggling financially,

emotionally and spiritually. As you gather with those you

love this Thanksgiving include all our brothers and sisters in

your prayer before you family meal. 107-2
