sports during one of our last home basketball games of the

season.

This year’s Winter Sports Senior Night will be held Friday, January

11 before and during the boys game against MUS. A social will be

held in the foyer next to the gym beginning at 5:30 p.m. (The girls

varsity game against Hutchison is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.) The

senior athletes participating in winter sports, along with their

parents, will be introduced during the following times:

Basketball players (boys and girls) and parents will be introduced

before the boys game. Please meet in the hallway beside the multi-

purpose room at 7:00.

Athletes and parents from other sports (wrestling, bowling, swim)

will be introduced during halftime of the boys game.

In order to participate in Senior Night, the athletes MUST fill

out the Senior Night form that will be available in their religion

class. For your convenience, forms are also available on the

SBA website and on the next page.

If you have any questions, please contact Dianna Cervetti in the

athletic office, 260-2865, [email protected]. If you will

not be able to attend, please let us know as soon as possible for

planning purposes.

Simple Ways to Help…. You wouldn’t BELIEVE the difference it makes!

SBA Eagle Bucks Gift Card Program

The SBA Eagle Bucks Program allows you to earn money for our school programs while shopping! Just buy your gift cards from us! They will make GREAT Christmas gifts! To place your order, you can fill out the form on our website sbaeagles.org or you can stop by the office for a form. We have many gift cards in stock in the office, but orders are placed on a weekly basis. SBA receives a percentage of the sale of the gift card.

Kroger Community Rewards

If you shop at Kroger, you more than likely have a Kroger Plus card on your keychain. If you go to Kroger.com and create an account using your Plus number, you can select St. Benedict at Auburndale as your Community Rewards Program organization of choice. A portion of every shopping trip you make using your Kroger Plus card will then go to SBA!

Target REDcard Program

Target’s Take Charge of Education Program donates millions of dollars to education each year by giving 1% of your purchases at Target back to your eligible school. Please designate SBA as your school of choice for their Take Charge of Education program. It is easy and very effective. Apply in the store or go online to Target.com/tcoe.

Coke Rewards for Schools Program

Purchase your favorite Coca-Cola products to get the codes. Go to mycokerewards.com/school and sign in or register to become a member. Enter your codes to get points and then search for our school to donate points. St. Benedict can accumulate

points and then choose items for our classrooms from their online catalog.

For more information on any of these easy ways to help SBA, please contact the Development Office at 260-2892 or email [email protected].

Every bit counts and it all adds up, so thank you for your participation in any of these programs that benefit our school.

January 2013

Dear Sophomore Families,

St. Benedict is pleased to announce our partnership with an online test prep program, ePrep.

EPrep utilizes practice tests, video study halls, video tutorials, and much more to help students

improve their SAT, ACT, and PSAT scores. This program is free for all of our sophomores and

juniors.

During the middle of January, Laura David, the new 10th

grade Counselor, will be reviewing this

program with your sophomore student in English class. Students will create a password that they

will need to log-in each time. Every student’s account will be active from now until January of

senior year. EPrep is a program for the students to use at home at their leisure.

We encourage you to review this program with your student. Please do not create a new account,

but rather log-in with your student’s email address and password so we’ll have enough accounts

for all of our sophomore and junior students.

We include this passage to give you a fuller description of the program: “EPrep successfully uses

expert instructors to deliver a student-adaptable learning experience that patrons can access at the

library or remotely from home. Using a proprietary video delivery platform that replicates the

private tutor experience, ePrep makes test preparation easy. All of ePrep’s study programs

employ the proven practice-grade-review cycle of learning: Students take practice tests under

timed conditions; have them graded online; and immediately launch into video reviews. EPrep’s

Study Hall tracks student progress throughout each course and guides remedial efforts, while

Wordsmith encourages vocabulary building. A Parent Center allows parents to track student

progress non-intrusively, while ePrep’s Study Scheduler helps students stay on track.”

Details on ePrep’s video test preparation service can be found at http://www.eprep.com/ . To log-

in your student’s account simply go to http://school.eprep.com/auburndalehstn/login and type in

his/her email address and password. We hope you can partner with us in encouraging your

student to take full advantage of this user-friendly, instructional tool. If you have any questions,

please feel free to contact your student’s counselor.

Sincerely,

SBA Guidance

Prayer for Vocations

O Lord, help me know your will for me

Let your light shine in the depths

of my heart that I may know what you

want

me to do with my life.

Help me believe that you have a special

plan for me.

Lord, I know I pass through this life

only once;

help me decide how you want me to

make a difference.

Like our Blessed Mother, give me the

wisdom to hear your voice

and the courage to answer your call.

Above all give me peace of mind and

heart.

I offer this prayer in the name of Jesus

Christ our Lord.

Amen
