Monday, April 29 – Travel to St. Louis, MO (Reception, D) Good morning. Welcome aboard Hawkeye Stages. Relax as our luxury coach departs to St. Louis (morning break & lunch stop en route). This afternoon visit the Gateway Arch, beginning with “Monument to the Dream” movie where you learn about the inspiration behind architect Eero Saarinen’s timeless design (35 minutes) followed by The Tram Ride to the Top of the Gateway Arch Observation Deck. Late this afternoon we check into the Drury Plaza Hotel for a 3-night stay. Kick Back Reception is available at the hotel This evening dinner is scheduled at Favazza’s Restaurant. Menu of delicious Italian entrees and sides that make this historic restaurant in The Hill neighborhood famous. Tuesday, April 30 (B, L, Reception) Cooked breakfast at our hotel City highlights tour of St. Louis with expert local guide aboard our coach (Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, City Museum, Busch Stadium, Forest Park & other highlights as time allows) Guided tour of Anheuser Busch Brewery followed by Buffet at the Biergarten. Visit the Missouri Botanical Garden where you will have a narrated tram tour, and time for self-guided touring at your own pace. This is the country’s oldest botanical garden in continuous operation; a National Historic Landmark, with 79 acres of gardens and historic structures. Visit the St. Louis Blues Museum – this guided tour brings the history of Blues music to life and shows how artists from the Beatles to Elvis were influenced by the Blues.   • Visit the Soldiers Memorial Military Museum for a guided tour. The tour will highlight WWI: St. Louis and the Great War.

    • Arrive at Grant’s Farm for sandwich lunch, with beverage.

    • Following lunch you will have two activities at Grant’s Farm. The Deer Park Safari

    where you will board the private expedition vehicle that will take you around Mirror Lake to Grant’s Cabin, which you will be able to go inside. Then travel

    out into the Deer Park where you’ll have the opportunity to feed a variety of animal’s right from your hands! The Clydesdale Experience is where you

    will go behind the scenes for a Clydesdale’s life. Find out what it takes to make the hitch and become a Budweiser Clydesdale.

    • Visit 3RD Degree Glass Factory where you will have a guided tour of this

    over 6,000 square foot factory. You will visit three glass studios and there will also be a glass blowing demonstration.

    • There will be a short amount of time back at the hotel, where you will have

    a little time to enjoy the reception before leaving for dinner. •

    Dinner is at the Bissell Mansion Participatory Murder Mystery, including the 4-couse meal. •

    Leave St. Louis for Hermann, MO•

    Arrive in Hermann for a tour of the Living History Farm and Museum. Located on 200 acres within the City limits, the Hermann Farm Museum is a living history farm dedicated to preserving and presenting the unique agricultural, social and economic history of the German immigrants who

    settled the lower Missouri River Valley in the mid-1800’s.

    An Open-Air Tram will then transport you through the rolling hills and valleys of the Farm where you will visit the restored Husmann home, builtin 1847, along with the many early outbuildings. Also included in the tour is a stop at the Master Distiller’s Homestead (restored 1850’s log house) and the Black Shire Distillery. Along the tram route you will also see a

    presentation of the magnificent Shire draft horses.•

    Lunch at the Hermann Wurst Haus, when you arrive, you will be invited to taste samples of bratwurst and sausages. The owners have more than 60 years

    of experience in the meat processing business and produce more than 40 varieties of fresh and smoked sausages and bratwurst. Lunch will be

    served in the spacious dining area. •

    Time to shop/browse in the specialty shops in the Historic Area of Hermann

  • Visit Oak Glenn Winery. Located three miles east of Hermann, the winery is situated high on the Missouri River Bluff ’s with a spectacular view of the Missouri River Valley. Oak Glenn’s roots date back to the 1880’s when

    George Husmann first planted grapes on the property. •

    Step-on Narrated Tour of the City of Hermann. Experience the historic heritage and culture of this German village from the comfort of your

    motorcoach as your guide entertains you with anecdotes and stories of the history of the early days of Hermann.

    •Winery Tour and Tasting at Stone Hill Winery. Enjoy a guided tour of the

    large underground cellars, which are the largest series of vaulted cellars in North America.

    •Dinner at Vintage Restaurant at Stone Hill Winery served in the restored

    horse barn and carriage house located on the grounds of Stone Hill Winery.•

    Marilyn Loehnig, a talented accordionist, will play your favorite tunes and requests until entrée is served.

    Churchill Museum, located on the Westminster College campus commemoratesthe life and times of Sir Winston Churchill. In 1946, Winston Churchill deliveredhis famous “Sinews of Peace” address in the Westminster Historic Gymnasium.

    • There will be an included buffet lunch at the Westminster College dining hall
