Monday 30th September 2019
After months of waiting, today finally arrived and we set off to
Liddington with all of our year 6 friends.
Despite the rain, our spirits remained high and we enjoyed laying square
eggs, walking like crabs and singing our hearts out during whacky
races!! Everyone tucked into either sausages, chicken or veggie roast
followed by a tasty choc ice.
We are now settling down for the night thinking about all of the fun
activities that await us in the morning.
Tuesday 1st October 2019
After first breakfast at Liddington, we persevered through the rain to
overcome many of our fears and tried activities that we had never
experienced before. Activities included mountain biking, archery, buggy
building, zip wire and abseiling. A number of us learnt how to ride a
bike for the first time and even managed to score a bullseye in the
archery target!
Take a look at a sample of our fantastic day.
Wednesday 2nd October 2019
After a hearty breakfast, we set off to our morning activities in the
sunshine!! Today’s new experiences included the challenge course, problem
solving activities, giant swing, survivor and vertical challenge. We faced
our fears with a smile. Doesn’t everything seem so much easier when
the sun is out and the sky is blue? I wonder what we will accomplish
tomorrow.
Thursday 3rd October 2019
We were rudely awoken this morning by the fire alarm! Turns out that
someone from another group had opened the bathroom door whilst the
hot shower was running!! In Hilltop style, we carried on regardless
and participated in a whole range of exciting activities including the ever
popular crate challenge, abseiling, vertical challenge, survivor and raft
building. We ended our evening huddled next to a roaring hot camp
fire whilst feasting on marshmallows and singing songs. What a perfect
end to our week at Liddington.
Friday 4th October 2019
Although our adventures are now over, the memories we have created
will stay in our hearts and minds forever. Our final day was spent
taking the leap of faith off the top of the trapeze tower and canoeing
around the lake, accompanied by a family of resident ducks.
We are all proud of the way in which we have supported each other
and overcome our fears throughout the week. We have accomplished so
much in such a little time and will use this experience to help us to reach
for the stars and become the best that we can be when we return to
school.
