GIRLS, GUYS AND GOLD: Jewellery certainly isn’t a ‘girl thing’ any more, as was apparent at this do. To begin with, it was hosted by two men – Naveen and Deepak Mehra of Mehrasons. They showcased their latest jewellery collec- tions at their new showroom in AKM Boutique in South Ex – I, and there were lots of curious ladies but also many men at the party. The four new collections are called ‘Benaras Collec- tion’, ‘Jharokha Collection’, ‘Tree of Life Collection’ and ‘Marigold Collection’. DELHI STANDARD TIME: There were a number of latecomers to the do, but they each had their reasons. Hans Dannenberg Castellanos, ambassa- dor of the Dominican Repub- lic, came late be- cause he was com- ing directly from airport to the ven- ue, since he’d just arrived from Viet- nam. Sushmita and Manoj arrived late because, as Sushmita ex- plained to her friends, “My chil- dren were busy with their studies and I could not leave them since their exams are going on. Relaxation for the celebs? Well, not quite – it leads to a happening do and a fashion show, with Delhi’s social circuit regulars in attendance. The Three Graces spa at Rajouri Garden, which aims to provide the best of health, wellness and beauty services to its customers, saw a launch full of glitter and glam recently, including a show by Ranna Gill, with actors Kunal Kapoor and Mugdha Godse in attendance. HALE AND PARTY: Despite coming from the other end of town, most party regulars ar- rived ‘almost’ on time, with the ladies leading the pack. The launch was complemented with ample doses of Bollywood, fashion, glamour and great music. Payal Sen was one of the ear- ly birds, and managed to catch enough chit- chat time with Ranna. FASHION SPECIAL: Mugdha and Kunal unveiled the spa, and Mugdha was also the showstopper for Ran- na’s show. Guests couldn’t get enough of the two Bollywood stars and kept trying to break security circles for their photographs and autographs. By this time, the ven- ue had become so crowded that some of the ladies stepped on to the treadmill in the hall to view the fashion show from a better position. Seeing this, Chhaya Momaya said, “Now don’t start working out, ladies!” But Chhaya, the bra- ins behind the launch, seemed to be work- ing out quite a bit herself as she greeted all the guests at the launch. FRIENDS AND FAMILY: We also spotted Amitabh Kant with his wife Ranjeeta at the do, and asked them about their fondness for wellness. Kant told us, “Well, we’re actually here for the family. I’ve known them and Ab- hit’s (Sud, the host of the evening) father for a long while now – in fact, since they started Amatrra in Delhi. I was part of the ITDC then.” Abhit, MD, Three Graces, seemed hap- py at the response. He said, “I’m so glad that my project is seeing the light of day. We’ve all worked hard on this and since this is a niche product, it required all the more effort.
