Why should I use social media? ( & other Frequently Asked Questions )

1. So, why is social media so important for me to use?• Social media is a “new way” of marketing, advertising, and engaging a community. It’s a new way of

connecting small business, individuals, and larger companies with the world. It’s personal. It’s customized. And it’s always ON.

2. Why is social media better than “traditional” marketing and advertising techniques?

• Social media fosters an engaged, responsive, and interactive audience 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. By becoming an active participant in these larger communities, businesses and individuals are able to create a name for themselves and employ a trusted and respected relationship with clients, potential clients, and other businesses.

3. Is social media COST effective?• YES. Traditionally, you might pay $400 for a ¼ page advertisement in a newspaper that runs static

for a week, or so. After that, it is gone… thrown away or recycled, never to be seen again in the advertising world, unless of course you pay to place it again. You can only hope that the right people saw your ad while it was printed. Through the use of social media, you are creating a targeted, specified audience and presenting yourself or your organization at all times. The information that you provide is there forever and can be seen or accessed by anyone, anywhere.

4. Are you an “expert?”• No, by no means am I an “expert.” Anyone who proclaims themselves to be an expert, probably

isn’t. However, I have a lot of experience and I am very comfortable with using and implementing these services. Social media is a field that is constantly changing and I try to the best of my ability to keep up with the changes and stay “in the know” on current trends. If I don’t know something, you can be sure that I’m going to research it and learn more about that particular topic.

5. How can you help ME?• It’s my job to help you get the most from your social media presence. At all times it is my goal to

represent and present your organization in the best way and by reaching as many people as possible. I will get to know your organization, what your organization is about, learn your long-term goals, and become comfortable using YOUR vocabulary. I want to use your voice at all
