Hierarchical Coding Structure for All Phases of Oil & Gas Facilities / Project Lifecycle.

Conduct a study of following three individual hierarchical coding structures independent / irrespective of pro-

ject specific area / module / sub-project, each having separate and different purpose –

1. PBS – Physical Breakdown Structure.

This hierarchical coding structure defines the physical / functional component of Oil & Gas Projects / Facil-

ities during any development phase.

2. SAB / ABS – Standard Activity Breakdown / Activity Breakdown Structure.

This hierarchical coding structure provides a timescale attribute to express when during the project lifetime,

expenditures and activities occur.

3. COR / COA – Code of Resource / Code of Account.

This hierarchical coding structure classifies all project resources and categorises resources according to

primary, secondary and tertiary levels of resources.
