Protect the earth

The Earth is a beautiful place. There are forests and rivers, mountains and fields. Some places are very hot, and some are very cold.

There are many different plants. Some are large. Some are small. All plants need light and water. There are different animals on Earth, too. Some live on the land. Some fly in the sky. Some live under the water.

There are also many people like you and me on Earth. The Earth provides us with air, water and food. It is our home.

Today, there is a lot of pollution. We burn things to make energy. This ollutes the air. We put our rubbish into the sea and under the ground. This pollutes the Earth and kills animals and plants.

We must stop doing these things. It is important for us to protect the Earth for our future.

Grammar

Countable and uncountable nouns

In English, we can count some things , e.g. rivers and mountains. We cannot count other things , e.g. water and air.

Using there is/ areJane: There is pollution in the sea. What can we do to help protect the sea?

Danny: There are many things we can do. We can have a beach clean-up day. You see, there are always many bottles on the beaches. They pollut the sea.

Jane: That’s a good idea! What else can we do?

Danny: We can ask people not to eat shark fin soup. Is there a sea food restaurant near your home?

Jane: No, there isn’t . Are there any other things we can do to help?

AirAir has no smell. How does a balloon rise in the air,Air has no taste. And lift people up?But when the wind blows, It uses hot air.

You feel it on your face. We need air to breathe.

Look at a kite, We need air to survive.

Or a plane in the air. And when we breathe it,How do they stay there ？ It keeps us alive.They ride on air.

The story of the ten sunsA long time ago, there were ten suns in the sky. The weather was very hot. Plants could not grow. Animals could not live long. There was a man. His name was Houyi. He shot nine suns out of the sky. In the end, only one sun remained. The weather got cooler. Plants could grow. People were happy.
