The beauty of the MATVin ceilings is that they require no specialprecautions. Tiles can be wet-wiped post-installation, andregularly thereafter ensuring easy maintenance. Acoustical

overlay can be placed without any loading considerations.

Framework

The framework of MATVin ceilings consists of Main Tees,Cross Tees and Wall angles, made of corrosion resistant,hot dipped, galvanized steel as per BS 2989 andmanufactured as per BS 2994. Both ends of the Tees haveintegral splices that feature a fire expansion relief nib. Thetees are interlocked into 600x600 mm grids and suspendedfrom the soffit slab with levelling clips.

The Markant plaster solution is different from the othertwo in that it features strong shaded markings betweenceiling panels due to stepped (tegular) edge profile. Dueto this very characteristic, the ceiling will often be seen

designed into a pattern that is adapted to fit the shape ofthe space. This in turn helps the whole ceiling designlightweight and also dynamic. The fine bevelled andstepped edges of the ceiling panels ensure easy,straightforward assembly. Combined with recessing intothe suspension system, this provides a directionallystable ceiling. Architectural Specifications

GENERAL

1.01 Scope

Supply and install Modular Ceiling System as manufacturedby Anutone Acoustics Limited Bangalore, India and asrequired by the Contract Document.

1.02 Standards

The Modular Ceiling System shall have a fire hazardclassification of Class A / Class I as per ASTM E84 with flamespread of 0 and smoke density of 5.

1.03 Qualifications

The installation work of this section shall be performed byan authorized applicator, licensed by the manufacturer.

1.04 Quality Assurance

A. The Modular ceiling SoundSkelet (Grid) System shall beinstalled as per ASTM C636

B. A minimum of 75mm clearance shall be maintainedbelow the lowest HVAC duct

C. Position of main Tees shall be determined and marked

with chalk string or laserD. A maximum distance of 1200mm shall be recommended

between suspendersE. Main Tees shall be suspended from overhead

construction by means of cleats and GI wiresF. Alignment of the system shall be checked periodicallyG. Other services l ike HVAC, l ighting, etc shall be

simultaneously installed by othersH. Modular ceiling tiles shall then be laid in positionI. A Noise Reduction Coefficient of 0.80 at E-300 mounting

shall be ensured

1.05 Submittal

A. Product Data

Submit manufacturers product specifications includingcertified laboratory test reports and other data requiredto show compliance with specifications.

B. SamplesProvide 210 x 280mm samples of modular ceiling tilesand SoundSkelet (Grid) System

C. Certified Test ReportsSubmit test data from an independent testing agency,acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction, evidencingthat system components comply with requirementsindicated for fire performance characteristics as also foracoustical performance

D. Submit installation dealers Limited Warranty againstdefects in the modular ceiling systems and workmanship.

1.06 Product Handling

A. Store all materials off the ground and protected from dirtand dust of construction operations.

B. Handle materials in a manner that will protect them fromdamage and soiling.

1.07 Product Drawings

Drawings showing typical reflected ceiling plan, with typicalfixing details to be submitted to the architect/designer

1.08 Maintenance

Extra Stock: Matching replacement stock of modular ceilingtiles, as requested by owner shall be maintained as extra

stock to meet exigencies.

minimum light reflectance of 0.75. Modular ceil ing t ile available in 600 x

600mm or 600 x 1200mm

EXECUTION3.01 Examination:

A. Examine the condition of the substrate and theconditions under which the work of this sectionis to be performed. Notify the contractor in

B. Field measure each ceiling area which is toreceive the Modular Ceiling System to establishthe correct layout

3.02 Installation:

A. Install materials in accordance withmanufacturers instructions, and comply withgoverning regulations, fire resistance ratingrequirements as indicated, and industrystandards applicable to the work.

B. Install SoundSkelet T-system level and straight,flush and in proper alignment.

C. Support the heavy fixtures from the slabD. Install Modular Ceiling tiles

3.03 Cleaning And Protection

A. Clean exposed surfaces of ceiling surface as necessary,comply with manufacturers instructions for cleaning andrepair of minor finish damage. Remove and replace workthat cannot be successfully cleaned and repaired topermanently eliminate evidence of damage.

B. The Installer shall advise the contractor of required protection,including soiling from other trades and dust control, so thatthe work will be executed without any damage anddeterioration at the time of acceptance by the owner

SoundSkelet has to be installed as per ASTM C636 Aminimum distance of 75mm clearance to be maintainedbelow the lowest level of HVAC duct/RCC Beam, apart fromplenum air gap. Determine the position of main T and cross

T can be installed at 600 or 1200mm as per requirement.Ensure proper level of the SoundSkelet T-system and theninstall ceiling tiles.

Supply and Instalaltion of Modular ceiling tiles of size 600 x 600mm (nominal) by using SoundSkelet Suspended Grid System.

SoundSkelet is made from high strength, hot dippedgalvanized steel as per BS 2989 with 120 gms zero spanglezinc coating. The exposed flange is capped with 25 micronsprepainted metal. SoundSkelet T-system shall be suspendedfrom slab or purling by using anchor Bolts, Glavanised steelwires, levelling clips etc
