Data System Status and Plans
• NSIDC’s MODIS support provided by the NASA supplied ECS data system
• ECS reconfiguration continues Consolidation of COTS software nearing completion Move to Linux platforms, commodity hardware Rel 7.21 delivery and installation this summer
• Completely on-line archive approved by NASA, to be installed this summer Collection 5 MODIS snow and ice products are already
available on-line Several complete Collection 4 MODIS snow and ice data
sets are also available now
