virtue that guides and moderates action. The doctrine behind modesty begins with our knowledge that we are

children of God, created in His image (see Moses 2:27). Our bodies are sacred gifts from Heavenly Father and

have specific purposes that He has planned. As grateful recipients, we acknowledge this gift by treating our

bodies as He has asked us to (see D&C 88:33). We learn to train, control, and bridle our bodies and their

Testimony of Booth Members: Modesty encompasses so much more than dress. It's what's in our heart, what passes from our lips and it's what we choose to share and

how we use our hands to serve our Heavenly Father and others. Modesty is an outward expression of our understanding that we are

cherished daughters of God and that we will use that knowledge to honor him and conduct ourselves in a way that sets us apart from the

world's declining values. We are all "Modesty-Made...lips-hearts-hands" and what a beautiful concept to recognize within ourselves.

I attended a fireside with Sister Bonnie L. Oscarson, Young Women General President. We were taught that if we want to be more like

our Savior we need to know him. If you want to understand the atonement, study the Book of Mormon. If you want to know the Savior,

you need to study his words daily. As this relates to Modesty, I feel it becomes more evident the more we know and love our Savior and

try to emulate his life. The more we understand that Modesty is more than dress, it is how we think, what we speak and what is in our

hearts.
