A. Unpacking.
Afterunpackingthespeaker,examineitcarefullyforpossibledamagethatmayhaveoccurredintransit.Ifequipmenthasbeendamaged,immediatelyfileaclaimwiththecarrierstatingtheextentofthedamage.Carefullycheckallshippinglabelsandtagsforspecialinstructionsbeforeremovingordestroyingthem.
B. Mounting Arrangements (see figure 1).

Theamplifiedspeakercanbemountedonanyrelativelyflatsurface.Conduitconnectionscanbemadetothetwo1/2"threadedopeningsatbottomofthehousing.A1/2"conduitplugissuppliedforfieldinstallationifoneofthe1/2"threadedopeningsisnotutilized.Afterthemountinglocationandmountingmethodhavebeenselected,proceedwiththeapplicableinstructionsbelow.
Propertydamage,seriousinjury,ordeathcouldoccurifanaccumulationofwater,snow,dust,etc.residesinthespeakerprojector,severelyreducingorpreventingoperationofthisdevice.Mounttheunitsospeakerprojectorispointedhorizontallyorslightlydownward.
Propertydamage,seriousinjury,ordeathcouldoccuriftheprojectorismis‑handledduringinstallationorovertime.DONOTrotatetheprojectormorethan180degreesorinternalspeakerwiringmaybedamaged.

a. Removeandretainthetwoscrewsthatsecurecovertohousing.Removethecover.
Propertydamage,seriousinjury,ordeathcouldoccurifanyobjectsareinfrontofthespeaker,severelyreducingoptimumsounddistribution.Formaxi‑mumeffectiveness,ensurethatthefrontofthespeakerisclearofobstruc‑tions.
b. Selectthemountinglocationandplacerearofthehousingagainstmountingsurface.
c. Usingthemountingholes(two(2)insideforModels300GCand302GC’shousingorfour(4)outsidefortheModels300GCXand302GCX’sexternalhousingbracket)asatemplate,scribedrillpositionmarksonthemountingsurface.Seefigure1formountingholelocationsanddimensions.
Beforedrillingholesinanysurface,ensurethatbothsidesofsurfaceareclearofitemsthatcouldbedamaged.
d. Securetheunittoawoodenmountingsurfacewith#10x1"woodscrews.Ifmountingonametalsurface,drill13/64"diameterholesandsecuretheunitwith#10screws,lockwashersandnuts.
e. Routewiresthroughthe1/2"threadedopeningsintotheSelecToneunitinaccordancewithNationalandLocalElectricalcodes.Wiresizedependsupontheoperatingcurrentandthedistancefromthepowersource.

C. Electrical Connections.
Toavoidelectricalshock,donotconnectwireswhencircuitsareenergized.
Neverenergizeunitunlessthecoverissecurelyfastenedtohousing.Propertydamage,seriousinjury,ordeathcouldoccurifthehousingisnotclosedprop‑erly.
NationalandLocalElectricalCodesmustbeadheredtointheinstallationandoperationofthesemodels.Allelectricalwiringmustberoutedthroughapprovedconduitandfittingsasspecified.

IV. TESTING/OPERATING.
Thesedevicesarecapableofproducingsoundsloudenoughtocausehear‑ingdamage.Adequatehearingprotectionshouldbewornifstandingwithincloseproximitytodevicewhiletesting.RecommendationsintheOSHASoundLevelStandard(29CFR1910F)shouldnotbeexceeded.
A. Afterinstallationiscomplete,besuretotestthesystemtoverifythateachamplifiedspeakeroperatessatisfactorily.Ifitisfoundthattheunitistooloudforitslocation,aninternalvolumecontrolcanbeadjusted.Removethehousingcover.Usingaslottedscrewdriverwitha1/8"blade,gentlyturncontroltodesiredloudness.Seefigure2.Reinstallthehousingcover.
B. Aftercompletionofinitialsystemtest,establishaprogramforperiodictest‑ingofthisdevice.
C. ProvideacopyoftheseinstructionsfortheSafetyEngineer,systemoperator(s)andmaintenancepersonnel.
