We are having our Ice Cream Social at the August meeting and that will certainly be COOL!!! Notice in the Activities listing, the Wichita A’s that will be in Okla- homa City at the Express Ranch in Yukon. They will have around 30 people so let’s give them a great Oklahoma City welcome on September 2. They are a fun group as all Model A’ers are so come join us. Presidents Message
This heat is really putting us to the test this summer. We had five determined members that ventured out in their Model A’s with their spouses to come to the July Breakfast and Mystery tour. Doug and I were there also but wimped out and brought the mod-ern iron. I guess I am just not that tough. We had a lot of fun though - eating, sweating, talking, sweating, riding the trolley and did I mention - Sweating. It really must start getting below 100 soon, don’t you think? We are having our Ice Cream Social at the August meeting and that will certainly be COOL!!!

Chocolate Delight
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 sticks margarine
1 cup chopped nuts
Mix together and press into 9 x 13 pan and bake for 15-20 minutes at 325 degrees. Set aside to cool.
8 oz cream cheese
1 cup powered sugar
1 cup cool whip
Mix together and spread over cooled crust.
1 small box instant vanilla pudding
2 small boxes instant chocolate pudding
4 1/2 cups milk
Mix together and spread over top of cream cheese layer.
Spread remaining cool whip over chocolate layer.
Top with chopped nuts.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Meet Your Fellow Members!!
Don and I met in Lawton, after being introduced by mutual friends. We dated for two years and then jumped the broom ten years ago. I am originally from Galveston Texas, and Don is from Oklahoma City. We have eight grown children and fifteen grandchildren. We also have two cats, Harley and Bella and one very spoiled Eskimo Spitz named Jenna. I have been self-employed as a hair stylist for 26 years and Don has been self-employed as a commercial roofing contractor for over 16 years and also a general contractor.
We enjoy taking long distance trips on our Harley Trike each year. I love sewing, scrapbooking, photography and gardening. Don loves to golf and rebuild muscle cars and street rods.
Earlier this year Don attended the Tulsa Car Auction. I was determined to go along to make sure he didn’t bring home another muscle car, when low and behold, I saw and fell in love with a 1930 Model A Roadster. I didn’t even know I liked cars!! Before I knew it, my hand was in the air and I was bidding on, and bought my first car. Neither one of us could believe I had just done that, but what can I say….It was Love at first site!! Don quickly realized he needed his own, so he bought a 1931 Sedan. Boy what a spending spree, and he thought I could only do damage at the mall.
We joined Sooner Model at the June meeting that we attended with Linda and Maxie Crouch. I’m not sure what we like best, the cars or playing dress-up, either way, we’re having a ball here in Lawton with our new cars. We are looking forward to at-tending the meetings and taking trips in our Model A’s with the club.

General Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the months of January thru November. Meetings commence at 7:00 p.m. and are held at Will Rogers Garden Center at 3400 N.W. 36th in Okla. City. Membership dues are $20.00 per year. Membership in the Model A Ford Club of America is encour-aged.
Ownership of a Model A Ford is not required. All members are welcome to attend the club’s Board Meetings, which are held on the first Tuesday of each month at a location designated by the Presi-dent and advertised in the Scuttlebutt.
