The 2018 United Way 35 Under 35 Women’s Leadership Program is supported by:
VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Although the 35 Under 35 program is coordinated by the United Way team, United Way engages program alumni to volunteer and play a leadership role in coordinating the application and interview process and session program details. In 2016, over 50 alumni volunteered to help lead and coordinate the program.
Each spring, United Way teams up with Prairie Public and the Fargo Park District to coordinate the annual Share A Story Family Event at Rheault Farm in Fargo to promote reading, literacy, and early education. Each year, thousands of children and families enjoy stories, activities, the opportunity to meet some of their favorite book characters and a free book to take home. Last year a team of more than 50 participants and alumni from the 35 Under 35 Women’s Leadership Program volunteered for this community event.

For years I have searched for a program that inherently does good in the world, and I believe 35 Under 35 opens so many doors to accomplish this goal. Participants want to make a difference in our community. Developing an association of like-minded individuals, gives an opportunity to make a greater impact within the world we live in. Most importantly, we need leaders that are kind and compassionate that recognize we are all connected. When we help others, we help ourselves
Lisa Svaleson Herman, Turf Tamers LLC, 2017 Participant
35 Under 35 has opened my eyes to see the Power of Caring around me and the next step of my leadership journey: harnessing my own Caring Power.
I have spread my love, my caring, without focus. 35 has inspired me to be the leader who leads by example, showing others what can happen when we love the people around us and Unite the Caring Power of Women

WHAT THE 35 UNDER 35 WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP PROGRAM ALUMNI ARE SAYING...
35 Under 35 has allowed me to further develop my strengths as a leader. I have learned how to successfully have crucial conversations, better utilize my time, and how to be impactful. I have gone back to work after each session with new ideas of how to inspire our company to collectively work together, make a difference and push towards the future
