How Does BlueStar Define Mobility?

What is Mobility? Mobility can be a broad term and mean different things to different organizations. It may best be defined as a person whose job is related to working in the field, outside the four walls. These field service and field sales individuals are the face and personality of the organization they represent. The actions they take, the professionalism they display and the quality of work they perform all impact the customer's perception of the company they represent.

Segmented Mobility Workforce

White Collar Workers: Those sales management professionals that use blackberry like devices and occasionally may attach a scanning device to those devices, but may not need to interface with ERP or CRM systems.

Grey Collar Workers: These are the mobile professionals at the heart of Mobility solutions being field workers who primary work outside the four walls. They would primary use handheld mobile computers, mobile printers, mounted vehicle computers or wireless backbone products daily. Activities like signature capture, fingerprint capture, RFID tags, barcode scanning, picture and image capturing.

Blue Collar Workers: These would be primarily associated with warehouse and dock workers. These are applications that would not necessary require WWAN communications and would be inside the four walls. However handheld and vehicle mounted devices could be used with 802.11 WLAN connectivity.

Black Collar Workers: This is the term that will be used for all other potential users of mobility devices or specialty devices. These opportunities may require roughed or specialty computing devices.
