MOBILE HOME SCREENS
THERE COULD BE INFORMATION…COULD BE A LOT OF INFORMATION

iPhone provides markers with quantities of smth.
That’s it
Majority of the grid cell space is occupied by the glossy icon…
Icon is not informative, except the red marker with the number.
Nexus 4 allows widgets. But they look ugly. Not aligned. Much space wasted between.
There is some context information within the widget.
There are smaller widgets, also with context information.
Your address here
BlackBerry is like iPhone. Glossy fancy icons without any context information
Widgets available.Widgets aligned.
BlackBerry icons have bigger area than iPhone. Area is left unused. So crying for space…
There is minimal context info with numbers like on iPhone.
Winphone provides better aligned widgets than Android.
A lot of space is left unused…
Why not to deliver more info by utilizing that available space?
Even with marker concept, there is enough room within icon-sized area to fit more information, such as faces, text, products, numbers, snapshots etc.
THERE COULD BE INFORMATION!
Definitely without iPhone’ish glossy icons, wasting potentially useful space around.Want it or not, but glossy must stay in the past.Near future is flat.
With aligned multi-sized widgets like Winphone. With variety of widgets like Android. But much more aesthetic than they are today!
With more information embedded into the icon-sized area, like Facebook Home, three faces into small context area.Ideally the home screen can delivery useful information in five-six different contexts even without any clicks on them.
Smaller widgets will remain and prevail, because they are sized to our finger…
BETTER HOME SCREEN?
