Embedded System

An embedded system can be simply stated as asystem in which software is embedded intohardware, that is used to assist, control or monitorthe operation of equipment, machinery or plant.

Unlike general purpose computer (such aspersonal computer) embedded system is notdesigned to be flexible and it does not meet awide range of end user needs.

It is usually dedicated to perform limitedcomputing functions reliably, securely and withminimum costs.

Components of EmbeddedSystem Hardware: It includes processor, timers,

memories, ports, interrupt controller, I/Odevices, etc.

Application Software: It is embedded ontothe hardware and performs series of tasks ormultiple tasks.

Real Time Operating System: RTOSsupervises the application software and setsrules during the execution of the applicationprogram.

Security has been an important issue in the smart homeapplications.

Conventional security systems keep homeowners, and theirproperty, safe from intruders.

A smart home security system, however, offers many morebenefits:-

Detect Glass Break

Detect entry of Unauthorized Personnel

WHAT IS HOME SECURITYSYSTEM

Home Security System is a system where the user cantake advantage of the technological advancement insuch a way that a person getting off his home does notneed to think of his home security again and again.

The purpose of this invention to provide a securitydevice, which gives immediate notification to the ownerand security services like police station or fire brigade atthe moment the unauthorized event occurs.

This purpose is accomplished via use of some modulesand a controller which activates a GSM (Global Systemfor Mobile) module to send one or more SMS (ShortMessage Service) to the owner and corresponding

security services at the time of break in.

5. Function : Send SMS to the User if any unauthorized personbreak-into the house or fire etc.

TYPES OF HOME SECURITYSYSTEM

B. Specification : There are a variety of home basedsecurity systems in the market. Some of them are :-

1. Wireless Security Systems1. These systems are convenient because they can be put almost

anywhere and can be moved when necessary. There are no

wires to worry about hiding, or getting tangled with other wires

in the home.

2. Motion Sensors2. Motion sensors detect movement in the home or on the

property. Some of these systems use infrared light that detects

changes in heat. High frequency wave is another motionsensor.

3. Acoustic Sensors3. These sensors can detect sounds such as breaking glass.

These sensors are usually put around windows and doors

where intruders are likely to try and gain entrance into a home

or business.

4. Digital Security Systems4. These systems secure a certain area and require a code to

disarm them. If this is not done, the company that monitors the

device, will check for an error or send help, if necessary.

5. Security Alarms5. These alarms are fixed in homes and are triggered in case of

emergencies or they are carried around with a person and in the

event that there is a medical or other emergency, the alarm can

be triggered.

6. Automotive Security Systems6. Automotive security system provides complete advantages of

the technological advancement by giving proper automaticsecurity measures.

GSM Based Security System :- GSM Based security system

makes use of the currently-available GSM infrastructure

and the hardware units using said infrastructure, functioning

everywhere with GSM signals available. It automates thehome and keeps updating the user using GSM technology.

The GSM Based Security System provides enhanced security aswhenever an interruption occurs a text message is sent to a desirednumber to take necessity measures.

The GSM Based Security System is reliable and user friendly and

posses Automatic Emergency Care Response that detects Sound,Smoke, LPG Leakage and informs user on their mobile number viatext messages, Cameras are embedded with the security systemthat allow live streaming and give direct access to the user tomonitor their protected zones.

The Door Bell detector sends a notification to the usersnumber if incase someone ringsthe bell while the Auto Door Locks enable theuser to know whenever anyone opens the door in his absence.

If incase the user gets a clear evidence of someone breaking in thehome he/she can live stream the cameras from anywhere in the

world and can trap the robber using Trapping System.

CONCLUSION

The home security include not only thief intrusion, but also fireattack.

This device provides a means for being able to securely monitora house by use of sensors integrated with a micro

controller and a GSM unit. SMS provides an economical and convenient way to alert

users of a possible intrusion into the property.

The use of mobile handsets as a client device to receive warning

messages on implies that the user will not have to carry anadditional piece of equipment as most people already have amobile phone with them most of the time.

This security services like police and fire brigade of a nearbyregion also be informed about the intrusion instantly and they

can take steps rapidly.
