The high level of energy and enthusiasm from the crowd and parade participants illustrate just how far we've come and I am honored I get to work on ensuring we continue to celebrate and promote equality in the District for all residents. MOAPIA has also been hard at work ensuring residents and merchants have not only a fun summer, but a safe one. Mayor Bowser recently announced a new drug enforcement strategy and is cracking down on the sale of synthetic drugs. Last year, my office launched a campaign to raise awareness on the dangers of selling and consuming synthetic drugs like K2 and this year, we are doubling down on our efforts to educate small businesses on this serious issue and work to keep these drugs away from the public. MOAPIA is also partnering with DPR and local community organizations to host a series of FRESH summer activities in Chinatown, beginning with a Kickoff Block Party in July.
