Building at Maparu, Arnhem Land, NT.
During late February and March, MMM’s John Cooper
was working on the teachers residence at Mapuru. Due
to the poor wet season in the Top End this year, the
task was made easier, although John felt the humidity
after a mild summer in QLD where all the rain seemed
to go this year!
This project is going to provide the much needed extra
accommodation for teachers at the school. It was good
to have the assistance of local elders and men, keen to
see this house finished for the teachers.

“You have searched me, LORD, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways”

Out with the furniture - In with the Church!
What a difference a week makes!! On the 2nd April, the Mango Hill centre starting changing very quickly, as a new church moved in to use parts of the property for their Church gatherings. They started converting the larger shed into a worship hall and spare house into offices and Kids Ministry centre and within a week, Dr Vorster and his church held their first worship service there, of which John and I were apart of, before we left for Darwin. A new era has begun on the MMM property in QLD, and we are so pleased that it is able to part-ner this ministry. We still have use of the caravan park and if you are travelling through and wish to stay at the cen-tre, please contact me to arrange this. [email protected] or 0430 200 942

MMM Western Australia News
Hi Everyone, As we write this news letter, Karen and I are preparing also to take a trip to the USA and bring home our son, Jacob, who has been there for the last four years on a Baseball Scholarship. His dream to play professional Baseball in the USA it would seem, has come to an end. How many of us have dreams that have been inspired and blessed by God but in the end don’t turn out the way we thought they would. Can we take the opportunity to encourage everyone to continue to “Trust in our Heavenly Father” for He is in control always. We may not see the full picture now, but later in life as we look back, we will understand and we will see God’s hand at every turn.
MMMWA Response “ Your work and ministry sound very encouraging. The project to fitout building is big for MMM but not impossible if we
can tap into some other resources. Can you send through some more details and photos” Since this initial SMS, MMMWA has been in contact with Peter Taylor who is familiar with this mission from contacts past. Together we have talked about the logistics of this Project, can it be serviced by a Caravan Safari or a dedicated project group leaving from WA, NT or both. Can MMM advise on alternative methods of construction: for example using MMM Build, what is the maximum benefit that we can get out of the limited funds and resources available. Additional information has been supplied building a picture of the ministry and its effect on the community it serves. Checkout the Web address http://blueskyreddirt.com/
John and Angela Wilmot are former missionaries having served in Malawi with Global Interaction. They are now working across East Pilbara with Martu People. Newman is the hub town. The Baptist Church was shutting down but is now growing - 40 plus adults regularly and increasing. Tonnes of kids. Every nation present - Tonga, Samoa, NZ, Malaysia, indigenous, Columbia, Africa, Philippines etc. The town desperately needs a healthy vibrant church. The town has broken People putting life on hold in pursuit of security in money, loose faith, family, marriages. Many leave poorer than what they came. Rents so expensive that $2500 per week Limits for Not For Profits like chaplains, coun-sellors, pastors etc putting strain on those who are here and further adding to the poor health in church and commu-nity. Martu live separately, isolated by a chasm that is not geographical. By having a healthy sister church we can lead the way in healthy community inclusion. We do this through combined services at times. Some Martu come to NBC slowly building relationship and trust both ways. Martu church often done at NBC building. Place to stay and camp for those Martu visiting.
Please pray for this ministry and for the decisions that the MMM Australia Leadership Team will be making over the coming months concerning God’s leading in our support and assistance to the Baptist Church in Newman
A Project in the Making - Blue Sky Red Dirt Ever thought where and how do MMM Australia Projects come about. Well we thought that we would begin a journey together and see where it ends. Last month we received a SMS message from Angela (Newman Baptist Church) “ I am hoping to get hold of Mobile Mission Maintenance. We live in Newman and a demountable house has come available for sale. The purpose is to convert for kids ministry. It’s in good condition structurally but guttered inside (metal poles are there but no gyp rock etc) We are with the Newman Baptist Church and have a strong relation-ship/mission expression with the local indigenous Martu Community. Our Congregation is incredibly multicultural many of whom are here working to support family and ministries back in islands such as Tonga, Samoa and Countries like Philippines, Columbia and Af-rica….our council is nervous about the cost involved in making it into a viable ministry area. Would there be scope for MMM to get involved”

OBO Maternity Hospital Report PNG, March 15 2013 The MMM team of four, Hudson, Siete, Max and
Kevin arrived at the site they had worked at just
seven months previously - when they had initially
erected the Hospital maternity ward and the Ablu-
tion block - but were unable to complete the pro-
ject due to lack of materials. However upon the
return visit, most aspects of the project went well
despite the team arriving to incredibly humid con-
ditions. They were there to complete the much
needed project and complete it they did!
Our MMM team, working with 22 local lads, in-
stalled many windows and internal doors and the
door furniture, mesh windows, laid metres of vinyl
floor coverings, the internal plumbing was com-
pleted as well as external locks and painting. The
cupboards and shelving were installed and the
water pumps installed and commissioned and fly
wire was attached to all the windows.

The job was completed on Thursday April 4th and on Friday April
5th the Grand Opening of the new facility was held. Local dignitaries
attended and 2000 ‘locals’, many of whom had travelled quite some
distance, joined together to give thanks to God for supplying this much
needed hospital. Within 24 hours of the hospital opening, a bay was
born. They called the baby Hudson after the MMM team leader, so we
hope the bay was a boy.
Many speeches were made but especially important to MMM
was the presentation by MMM of a ‘Certificates of Achievement’ to
each of the 22 local lads, for the hard work and dedication they gave, as
well as a recognition of the skills they had learned in the time they
worked with the MMM team.
Baby “Siete”, named after Siete Woldhuis, part of the MMM Team, as were other babies named after our team members. The wonderful news is that babies have started to be born in the maternity ward and there has been an immediate increase in the survival rates of children!

MMM had the privileged of serving Camp Jabez, a min-istry of Christian Growth Ministries, Philippines. The site consisted of the Home of Joy Orphanage, campsite, and Christian school and a goat farm!
The team included Ian and Ellen Dawson,, Bruce and Pam Collard and Barry Campbell. The team worked in concert with local Pinoy staff Benny de Leon (lead painter), Bong and Chris as paid contractors, and three staff from the Campsite. The project ran for 17 days from 6th-28th March. Which entailed painting the campsites buildings, total-ling an approximate area painted (two coats inclusive) – 4,500 m2. Approx Paint consumed – 1,040 lts ( Approx cost 160,000 pesos), And a total Man and Woman hours 952 hours! The ministry supplied us with good accommodation and food(rice, rice, rice!) and plenty of liquid, as it was very hot and humid every day. The cold shower at the end of each day was appreciated! The team generally adjusted well to the cultural and food differences, but it was obvious how privileged Australia is in comparison. However, the experience was a very positive one, we really connected well with people we worked along-side. The camp and orphanage ministry was amazing, some 20,000 people use the camp site every year, and we re-ceived very good feedback from groups using the facili-ties, how the newly painted building looked so much better and appealing. Mr Mayeighto was always helpful along with the staff, in particular a lady called Raquel, camp supervisor and cook, who helped us find our way around. Another highlight was one of the children from the orphanage was adopted to an Italian couple while we were there. Believe it or not, Bruce actually fitted in to a motor bicycle side car – though his legs were stick-ing out somewhat! Continued next page......

To recover from our efforts and humidity, we took a short holiday down in Cebu, flew there, and back, and stayed at a resort owned by a lady who attends Lakes Baptist Church, NSW - a highlight was swimming with the whale sharks! After a lot of sweat, effort, bumps and bruises, we had a very successful trip and pray it will be a great blessing to this wonderful ministry. At the farewell ceremony all the team were given the opportunity to say a few words, there were some tears from both the team and the Filipinos. There is a lot of potential work and ministry at this site and other places in the Philippines for MMM in the fu-ture, so we pray others will consider joining MMM teams to make this possible. Thank you for the opportunity to do this work! Ian & Ellen Dawson. Team Leaders.

A Note from Camp Jabez..... Dear MMM, We are sincerely grateful for the MMM Australia Work Team for sharing their time, labor and ser-vice for the Lord's work in Jabez Campsite. We are indeed thankful for their labor of love. The humid climate and the sweat they experienced everyday did not hinder during their painting work. For twenty three (23) years the concrete exterior walls of the campsite facilities like cabins, session halls, chapel, office and comfort rooms, dining hall and kitchen were dull and colorless. It was never painted. After 3 weeks of continued painting with colorful and selected paints the camp-site surroundings become alive. The dullness and monotony is gone. The change of the environment is very obvious. Most of our customers/clients were amazed and expect more from us. They requested if we can paint the interior walls also. Thank you and God bless. George Zomerdyke, Kim Roediger and Ian Story have been able to
replace some large wooden framed windows at Benwerren from
April 15 to 17, the facility had been needing for some time.
George manufactured the windows, and glassed them and they
were installed by the MMM team, securing the area from the
weather and painting the frames to complete the job. The ladies
who share that area with their children can do so without the
moisture and the wind being an issue any longer. Thank you
chaps!
