In addition to providing strategic-level oversight to CBIE’s implementation of projects funded by Global Affairs Canada as well as foreign clients, Karen is also responsible for developing new partnership and development initiatives for the organization with a range of international and Canadian partners across government, academia and civil society. She is also actively engaged in deepening CBIE’s relations with member institutions, particularly through leading CBIE’s International Collaboration mission series which provides unique opportunities for members to explore and pursue educational partnerships with countries across the world. MUHANNED JARRAH is the Executive Director of INJAZ Education, he is an internationally recognized leader in the field of institutions. Mr. Jarrah has been actively involved with INJAZ since 2000, INJAZ is a leading organization in education and youth empowerment in Jordan. He has managed the organization’s operations for almost 19 years, supporting INJAZ to become a leader in financial education nationally and internationally. In his current capacity as Executive Director for INJAZ Education, he attracts and retains corporate partners, while supervising the business development and the overall sustainability of INJAZ Education. He is responsible for maintaining fruitful relationships with more than 59 CEOs of key corporations. Mr. Jarrah is a well-known strategic planner. He has led strategic planning workshops and was engaged with many organizations in Jordan, regionally, and internationally. Mr. Jarrah was engaged with INJAZ in Jordan, United Nations Global Compact in Jordan, Destination Imagination in the USA, Aflatoun International in Holland, INJAZ Tunisia, CEDA International in Uganda. DR. LINDA ABUJABER is a passionate experienced physician with over 30 years of experience. She completed her residency and fellowship in the United States at the Emory University and the University of Pennsylvania. She is American Board-certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Infectious Diseases, and Integrative and Holistic Medicine. Guided by her experience with thousands of patients and their parents during her decades of clinical practice, Dr. Abujaber now focuses on empowering parents with simple, evidence- based information and methods to maintain and care for their children’s--and their own--holistic well-being. She is the author of “The SuperDad Formula” and “Treating Anxiety in Children Naturally” and the proud mom of two wonderful children. NOURA Al SAKET is a lawyer and a gender specialist, with nearly ten years of experience in law, human rights, and gender. Her education includes an LLB from the University of Jordan and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School. Since she became a mother in 2020, she learned about the profound role a parent can play in their child’s development and their long-term health and happiness. Realizing a gap in the Arab market in information, resources and tools, she started BforBrain a startup focused on enabling parents in supporting their child’s development. Education has the potential to meaningfully transform individual lives and communities globally. What does this practically look like in a unique country context; and, what are the opportunities and challenges that present themselves on the ground? Join us for a session to learn about how an education program focused upon women’s economic empowerment in Jordan, with support from Canada, has spurred the creation of a women’s business incubator and supported women’s entrepreneurship and women-led businesses. You will have an opportunity to hear from the leader of a non-governmental organization making a difference in the ground in Amman, as well as two women entrepreneurs who are successfully bringing their incubated ideas to market while navigating the complexities of life and work during a global pandemic
