Manifesting the Dream with We, The World A project for MLK National Day of Service and 40 Days of Peace

In partnership with Compassion Games International

WE.net - WE.net/MLK (Visit to watch replays of all events)Inspired by the 25th Anniversary of the MLK National Dayof Service, and MLK 40 Days of Peace, We, The World, with leaders from across the country, took action in avariety of ways to carry forward the Work and Legacy ofDr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the 21st Century. Workingtogether, these leaders created Community ServiceProjects, produced Interactive Broadcasts, Workshops andother activities that Inspired, Informed, and Involved over18,000 volunteer participants, bringing forth words andactions of peace and love to the people of The UnitedStates and to the World.

We began our MLK 40 Days of Peace Project on January 15, 2021, by participating in an MLKOnline Birthday Celebration via Zoom hosted by Jon Ramer and the Compassion Games. Thiswas followed by We, The World’s “Manifesting the Dream Preview with WE Team Members”Opening Interactive Broadcast, to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the MLK National Day ofService (MAKE IT A DAY ON, NOT A DAY OFF) with over 1,739 Volunteer Participants, DirectReach of 1,996.

WE broadcast 29 events throughout The 40 Days ofPeace with 44 Guest Speakers from 26 Organizations

Thanks to the magic of social media, WE has been able to reach a huge audience - worldwide -via our broadcasts, correspondence and Global Unity Calendar.

With deep gratitude to our many dynamic members of our CORE TEAM COORDINATORS whohave founded social justice organizations themselves, WE has greatly expanded the WEConsciousness that MLK himself spoke of in his too-short time on Earth during the turbulentera of the Civil Rights Movement.

This report documents the service activities created by these incredible torchbearers who carryon in the spirit of the compelling message of Martin Luther King, Jr., who proclaimed, “I have adream…”

I participated in the MLK Broadcast Dismantling RacismPart 3 – The Future, and I was truly changed just by beingthere. It led me into a new world of giving and learning and

acting, and has had me thinking a lot more lately aboutwhat I can do to be the change I’d like to see in the world.Being on that panel also gave me strength, in hearing my

own voice and knowing that I carry the wisdom of my elderswith me; that was revolutionary for me and my self-image. Iknow now that I have the power to change the world, just aseach and every one of us does, and that I can be persistent

about change in order to inspire others to do the same. -Brianna S.

Here I am on a Monday night working with a wonderfulwomen named Sue Blythe. She works with the

organization called We The World and she tries her best tomake the world a better place. I have been meeting with herfor months now, and some interesting projects have popped

Thank you Sue for all the support though out these monthsand beyond. Thank you for giving me that little shove that Ineeded to wake up. Thank you for all the opportunities you

have given me. Thank you for everything.-Adrian A.

This is the great new problem of mankind. We have inherited a big house, a great “world house” in

which we have to live together – black and white, Easterners and Westerners, Gentiles and Jews,

Catholics and Protestants, Moslem and Hindu, [HUMANS AND NATURE] — a family unduly

separated in ideas, culture, and interests who, because we can never again live without each other,

must learn, somehow, in this one big world, to live with each other. – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr

RACISM, HISTORY & LIES WITH MAX DASHU

This visual webcast shows how distortions of history have been used to justify white

supremacist beliefs, and still function as an ideological template for domination. We

examine the assumptions embedded in naming and language: “the March of

Civilization,” “barbarism,” “progress,” and phrases like “Old World'' and “New

World.” What is left out in talk about “The Ancient World,” “the Classics,” “the

Canon.” We look at pseudo-scientific race theories of “Caucasoids'' and Others;

attempts to whiten the Egyptians; stereotypes of Indigenous peoples in the Americas;

Black South Asians and Australasians, and how narratives of “vanishing” peoples

cover up historical genocides. It’s not just textbooks; white supremacy is also

propagated in novels, movies, advertising, comics, public monuments, and maps. We

finish with a glimpse of the cultural achievements and treasures from cultures that

most people are never taught about.

Max Dashu founded the Suppressed Histories Archives in 1970 to

research women in the global cultural record. From her collection of some

50,000 images, Dashu has created and presented hundreds of slideshows

at universities, community centers, bookstores, conferences, festivals,

schools and libraries, internationally. She is the author of Witches and

Pagans: Women in European Folk Religion, and and the forthcoming

Pythias, Melissae and Pharmakides: Women in Hellenic Culture. She also

publishes videos, such as Woman Shaman: the Ancients and Women’s

Power in Global Perspective. She teaches with images via her online

courses, webcasts, videos, the Suppressed Histories Facebook website and
