Our Title• We chose to call our film Overkill as it is similar to other films with

similar plots and genres and it got across just how much Oli went through which caused him to take such a drastic action. How much he was overkilled.

Synopsis • Oli is an only child and lives with his parents, at the age of 12

he was diagnosed with a severe case of schizophrenia. His life started to turn upside down from there, his parents became drug addicts and started to become abusive. The scarce money they stumbled upon was spent on drugs rather than their only son. When Oli realized they were getting a divorce, he became isolated. No one by his side and no one to help him as he sat alone at lunch time with bruises marring his cheek bones. His behavior became extraordinarily unusual and only few noticed. But they were too late. Oli's mind was already made up. He was going to attack his school.

Mise En SceneWe want to create an atmosphere that is full of small things that have a huge emotional meaning towards the characters which conveys how Oli was pushed to edge and couldn’t cope any longer. We want it to make the audience feel upset and sorry for Oli and for all that he's been through.

For example, maybe a faded photo in a frame entitled'Best Friends Forever' but then he checks his outdat-ed phone and finds no messages or notifications.

Mise En Scene Cont.To create the atmosphere we are using many different props, costumes and effects to make sure the themes are shown. To show-• The divorce- we will print out divorce papers and have them shown during

a scene.• The drug addiction- scattered pills, a belt, a syringe, a spoon and a lighter.• Their lack of money - unpaid bills, empty wallet/purses, empty money box

and old phones.• Abuse- Bruises done with make-up.• Mental illness- Different camera effects like using a shaky handheld

camera and using blurred edges may provide a disoriented feeling like how Oli must be feeling.

Target Audience• Our target audience is aimed towards young adults 15+ , we have chosen

this because we found out that thriller movies interest young adults more than any other age group.

• The target audience would be most interested in modern life and technologies this is because thriller movies are usually influenced by real life situations and events.

• Most thriller movies are rated a 15 because of the level of violent and frightening scenes.

• The opening of our movie will contain scenes of violence and a character with psychological problems therefore it would fit our chosen rating of 15.

• Thriller movies appeal to males because of the level of action and violence in the movie however it appeals to women as well because of the level of suspense therefore making them question what is going to happen next.
