Today’s readings help us to feel secure in placing our faith in God and being assured of God’s unfailing love. When Moses went up the mountain as the Lord had commanded him, God powerfully described himself, “The Lord, the Lord, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in kindness and fidelity.” Jesus shows us the depths of this life of God. He came not to con- demn the world but to save it. As people in relationship with God, we often fail. We walk away from God’s ways, fall into sinfulness, and then, with the Lord’s grace, come to our senses and return. God’s words to Moses and the very life of Jesus show us that when we do so, we can still rely on God’s mercy and kindness, because love is God’s very nature. CALLED TO BE LIKE GOD We might consider this testimony to the life and love of God and think to ourselves, so what? Knowing that God loves us is reassuring, and may help us place our faith and trust in the Lord, but something more naturally follows—as followers of Jesus, we are called to become more like him. When others look at us, they should be able to say that we are “merciful and gra- cious, slow to anger and rich in kindness and fidelity.” This gets at the heart of what it means to be a Christian. Our daily decisions, words, and actions are to reflect the merciful graciousness of God. We are able to do this through the indwelling power and presence of the Holy Spirit. In what ways are you becoming more Christ-like? May the grace of the Lord, love of God, and fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you as you renew your commitment to show and share God’s kindness to others! GRACE AND ETERNAL LIFE Moses is a man after our own hearts, for haven’t we all dealt with more than our share of stiff-necked people? Indeed, haven’t we all gotten a little stiff-necked ourselves at times? Complain-ing . . . impatient . . . quick to an-ger. How lucky for Moses—how lucky for all of us—that God is exactly the opposite! And we don’t even have to guess about it. The Lord tells us so directly. Ac-cordingly, Moses does what we all need to do. Our Faith lets in hand, he bows down and asks for God’s forgiveness and grace. Encouraging us to live together in peace—and in God’s favor—the Apostle Paul knows all about this grace, joyfully invoking Christ’s grace on us along with God’s love and the Holy Spirit’s. “Rejoice,” he says. Friends, Archbishop Pérez has announced that parishes of the Archdiocese of Philadel-phia will be able to resume public Masses the weekend of June 6th and 7th. The Archbishop and the diocesan staff have put significant time and effort into developing a plan for resuming masses. So, have we at the Parish. We at Saint Norbert Parish look forward to welcoming you back! Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus as we make our way back to the in-person cele-bration of the Mass. While our county remains in the Yellow Phase of statewide reopening, all of us need to do our part to make sure that our return to Mass is a peaceful and safe experience for all. Please take the time to read the guidelines below. We ask every-one to follow these guidelines when attending Mass during this period: GENERAL POINTS • The obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation continues to be lifted during the Yellow Phase.

You are not required to attend Mass at this time. • If you are anxious about receiving Holy Communion, you can make a spiritual act of communion at this time. • Please stay home if you are sick or have any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, or loss of taste and smell. • Please stay home if you are at higher risk of severe illness with COVID19. If you are uncertain about your risk sta-

tus, please consult your doctor and the CDC Guidelines at the link below. • Click here to read the CDC Guidelines for those at higher risk: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/need-extra-precautions/people-at-higher-risk.html MASS SCHEDULE - CHANGED The change in the Mass schedule is as follows beginning Saturday, June 6, 2020:

- 4:00 PM Saturday night, - 9:00 AM Sunday morning, - Spanish Mass at 1:30 PM, - 6:00 PM Youth Mass Sunday evening. - Confessions will be available after the 9:00 AM mass or by appointment.

Please note: There will only be one daily mass. - Daily Mass will move to 7:30 AM only beginning Monday, June 8, 2020.

This has been accepted by the Parish Council and the Parish Leadership Team for safety. Masses will continue to be available via livestream—https://parish.stnorbert.org/livestream/

- 9:00 AM , 1:30PM Spanish Mass (on Instagram Live), 6:00PM Youth Mass - 7:30 AM Daily Mass - Other sacramental celebrations and devotions

BEFORE COMING TO MASS • Please do not come to Mass if you are sick or are at higher risk for severe illness with COVID19 – Especially those 65 or older and those with underlying conditions (see CDC guidelines). • Please wash your hands for 20 seconds using soap and water. • Before entering the Church, please put on a facemask or cloth covering. This is mandatory. • If you can not wear the mask for the duration of Mass, please stay home. • Exceptions to this are “children younger than 2 years old, anyone who has trouble breathing, and anyone who is in-

capacitated or otherwise unable to remove the cloth face covering without assistance” (CDC Guidelines). ENTERING THE CHURCH • Entry to the church is only available through the front doors – only the main entrance is to be used. • Please do not congregate for any reason, especially in the narthex, coming to (or exiting) Mass. • Hand sanitizers will be available at the Church entrance. Please use the hand sanitizer upon entering and exiting the

Church. Consider bringing hand sanitizer for personal use before receiving Holy Communion. • To make sure everyone is at least 6 feet apart, we are limiting attendance at Mass. While we do not expect to reach

our limit, overflow seating outside will be available. • Missalettes will not be available at this time.

We ask that the main aisle of the church be used for

How appropriate that our Church will open on the feast of St. Norbert. As a Norbertine, this has great significance for Father Jim and me. Our parish mission statement has been influenced by Norbert, the founder of our order. One line in particular from the mission statement specifically: “Minister of peace and concord” points directly to St. Norbert, a great reformer of the Church. Born in 1080, he lived in an age of conflict between the secular powers of Europe and the Church. It was also at this time that many in the Church became lax in their faith, and sought worldly comforts. Hmmm, this does not correlate to current times, or does it? It is interesting to note that Norbert didn’t begin as a reformer but felt and lived the lure of worldly comforts. It wasn’t until he had a “St. Paul” like reconversion that he realized his true calling. Then went about preaching peace and reconciliation from one region to another in Europe. Leaders of the Church at that time sought him to reconcile Church differences. Norbert had become a celebrated figure, as his council was requested by many. My hope and prayer for us all is to live our St. Norbert Parish mis-sion statement. That we may be a bridge to peace in our Parish and the surrounding community, to live the Gospel, be one in Christ, and share the beauty of His Church. St. Norbert, pray for us!

Our Church extends a warm welcome to RCIA candidates Brian and Jess as they have entered into full communion with the Catholic Church. Originally, they were to receive their sacraments at the Easter vigil. This past Pentecost Sunday, Brian & Jess were able to receive the sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation. Their perseverance, and their conviction should inspire us all in our faith. We are so proud and honored for the strength and courage they displayed during these trying times. Please welcome them to our community!
