Thank you to everyone who supported the Friends of the Center Dinner. That night we celebrated all of the champions of the MJCC, including our fantastic members who make this place so special. We were thrilled to host nearly 350 people to support our honoree, Steve “Rosy” Rosenberg, the Harry Glickman Scholar Athletes, the inductees of the Oregon Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, and the crucial place that the MJCC serves in our community today.

All of us at the MJCC were truly humbled by the generosity of our donors that night and want to express our sincerest thanks for their support of our organization. Thank you.

Dear friends,

It seems that all winter long there’s been a hint of spring in the air despite all the snow hitting the Cascades these days. I’ve noticed the crocuses peeking through in my yard as well as the daffodils making their presence known on campus.

Each of us does our own version of emerging after the dark winter into a brighter warmer season and, here at the MJCC, we are taking advantage of seeing you all more often by offering some really great new programs for spring!

• Flower Arrangement Workshop with Zest (P.10)• Super Sweaty Sundays (P. 31)• Family Recess (P. 33)

The MJCC is your community center and we want you to enjoy it with your friends and family. Take advantage of our new “Buddy Bundle” opportunity to receive 5% off your class fees. See details below.

As the weather warms we have more and more opportunities to connect to each other and build community. We hope that you’re all able to share a smile, welcome a friend and connect with someone new all on our wonderful campus. Community is what we make it.

We’re glad to see you here. Enjoy the spring!

Warm regards,

Jordana LevenickMJCC Operations Manager

SWIM LESSON LEVEL DESCRIPTIONSSwim Assessment (ages 12 and under)The MJCC Aquatics department is dedicated to teaching children to swim and stay safe in our pools. We have an outstanding aquatic facility that allows kids to enjoy the water safely under the close supervision of certified lifeguards. We require a swim assessment from each child under the age of 13. The swim assessment consists of treading water for 30 seconds followed by swimming the length of the pool without floatation. Please contact our Aquatics Department for any questions regarding swim assessments.

Note: swim diapers required for children not yet potty trained.

Flying Fish: Stroke & Skill ProficiencyRefine strokes to increase ease, efficiency, power and smoothness. Learn the principles of fitness swimming such as drills, interval training, flip turns and basic lifeguard rescue techniques.
