With this project you will be focusing on creating a mixed media artwork reflecting on an important event in your life. 1. Start by gathering materials/objects as suggested in the slides. 2. Create a flat surface for yourself no smaller than the size of 1 foot by 1 foot. You can use paper, cardboard, canvas, etc. Think about layering your materials. You must have a background, meaning NO blank cardboard/paper/canvas/etc. Decide what you want your background to be, and your layers on top of that and so on. 3. If you do not have glue to secure the artwork in place that is ok! Just place it where it would go instead. Use any materials that you have to create a collage/mixed media artwork that represents a time in your life that has shaped you. The materials/objects should relate to your message. TOPIC- Mixed Media/Collage Self-Reflection Reflect on your life and where you are right now. What has brought you to this place? Where do you stand? What are the key factors in your life that has shaped your thoughts, values, circumstances, etc. Use these ideas as directions to start your artwork. Consider what materials you have and how they connect with your memories that you want to share. Your artwork will express something deep and meaningful. Can you make it more interesting by layering something or rotating something? Is your idea translated effectively or can you amplify your message by continuing to work? Can you add certain colors to relate your emotions to the viewer?
