Conventional LNGC
• Nickname “SAYAENDO”• Light structure with
continuous tank cover• Low FOC• Better maintainability
SAYAENDO Concept

Better Terminal Compatibility• Tradable cargo tank capacity for worldwide terminals• Compact dimension on per with conventional 147km3 LNGC• 49m Breadth for New Panama Canal Transit
Improved Operating Economy• Increased cargo capacity (+8000m3 from 147km3)• FOC saving by UST, improved hull form and less wind resistance.• Low BOR (0.15 to less 0.10%/d selectable)• Flexibility of fuel selection (100% Gas, 100% Oil & Dual burning)
• Maintenance cost saving(less supporting structure of pipes)
Environmentally Friendly• Less CO2 emission by low FOC• 100% Gas burning & 100%MGO(0.1% sulfur oil)can be used• Low NOx Emission (Lower than Tier III level)
Cost Saving• Less Steel Weight

Conventional tank cover → Not effective on strength
Continuous tank cover → Effective strength member
SAYAENDO can save the Steel Weight by providing continuous tank cover contribute largely to whole Hull Strength.

SAYAENDO Type
Wind load analysis by wind tunnel tests
Conventional Type
• Longitudinal Wind Force is decreased by abt.20-40% from conventional type.
It shall contribute to improve fuel consumption in actual voyage.3-4% improvement of fuel consumption is expected under Beaufort 5 wind scale condition.
• Lateral wind resistance is increased slightly.Influence on ships’ maneuverability and mooring at terminals have been confirmed.
Reduction of Longitudinal Wind Resistance

UST
Electricpropulsion
• STaGE is a hybrid propulsion system of UST and DFD Electric propulsion plant.• Plant efficiency is significantly improved by waste heat recovery of DFD.• Propulsion power is reduced by adoption of twin-screw system
Abt. 80% of waste heat from DFD is recovered.
